Bushidrill

Bushidrill looks like a warrior lifted straight out of Japan's Edo era. He wears a black kimono beneath black hakama, and his dark hair is pulled back into a ponytail. Heavy black brows and a pointed goatee round out the stern, traditional image.

As the senior member of Atomic Samurai's students, Bushidrill plays the steady, sensible one. He warns Iaian against the folly of taking on Garou single-handedly, and his seriousness shows whenever he scolds Okamaitachi, whether she is dancing with delight over sushi or swooning over a good-looking monster.

Bushidrill earned his place under Kamikaze by passing the master's apple-cutting trial, a test that lets Atomic Samurai read how a person has lived by the way they cut. Long before the main events, he and his fellow students crossed swords with Child Emperor and came away beaten. When the Monster Association crisis erupts, he joins Iaian and Okamaitachi in hunting down monsters ahead of the heroes' raid on the group's Z-City Ghost Town lair. Inside the base, the three form their own strike squad. They tangle with Do-S and her mind-controlled mercenaries, a fight Sweet Mask interrupts and one Bushidrill later challenges when Sweet Mask reveals his readiness to kill the brainwashed men.

The swordsmen go on to bring down the Demon-level Devil Long Hair by shearing away his hair, then press after Master Joe, only to run into the executive Evil Natural Water once its tank is shattered. In the chaos the mercenary leader Tongara dies protecting Bushidrill, and Evil Natural Water eventually overwhelms the trio. They are saved when Pig God swallows all three and later brings them back up unharmed. After recovering, the disciples honor their fallen in the mountains of G-City and travel to M-City, where they watch Atomic Samurai's challenge to King go nowhere, a humbling reminder that they all still have far to grow.

Ranked at the top of A-Class, Bushidrill is a formidable fighter, and Fubuki believes only Sweet Mask's gatekeeping kept him and his teammates out of S-Class. He is strong enough to hold back both Sosshi and Chinpi while they wear their battle suits, and quick enough to answer the hundred thousand or more strands of Devil Long Hair's assault. He can also sense hostile intent around him and strike true without ever opening his eyes. His weapon looks like an ordinary katana but conceals a set of inner blades that spin together into a drill, letting him bore underground and burst up on enemies from below. Fittingly, his name fuses bushido, the samurai code, with the drill at the heart of his sword.
