Fortitude is the ninety-first chapter of Tokyo Ghoul. Kaneki is overpowered by Shachi in a brutal exchange, and the failure to protect Taguchi leaves him kneeling in bitter self-reproach as Aogiri withdraws.
Kaneki runs back through everything he has learned about Matasaka Kamishiro, puzzling over why the man would side with Aogiri Tree. Lost in thought, he is caught flat-footed when Shachi charges, and his attempt to guard leaves both of his arms shattered. Tsukiyama rushes to his aid, but Naki slashes across his face and drags him into a fight of his own. Gagi and Guge fall on Banjou and put him down with ease, prompting Jiro, Ichimi, and Sante to step in where he had stood.
Recovering, Kaneki lets his kagune loose, and Shachi instantly identifies it as Rize's. Kaneki drives forward and manages to run the appendage through Shachi's back. Shachi answers by activating his own kagune, wrenching free of the hold, and then closing the distance to catch the half-ghoul unguarded. A savage blow to the abdomen sends Kaneki reeling as he coughs up a torrent of blood.
With Kaneki crippled, Shachi scoops up Taguchi and tells Naki it is time to go. The Aogiri fighters withdraw, leaving Kaneki on his knees, cursing his own weakness.
Shachi breaks both of Kaneki's arms and, after recognizing Rize's kagune, delivers a crushing counterattack that leaves Kaneki spitting blood. Aogiri retreats with Taguchi in hand, and Kaneki is left to lament his failure.
In Chapter 91, Shachi overpowers Kaneki in a brutal fight, breaking both of his arms and delivering a crushing counterattack before escaping with Nurse Taguchi.
Shachi catches Kaneki off guard and shatters both of his arms, and after Kaneki manages to stab him with his kagune, Shachi breaks free and lands a devastating blow to Kaneki's abdomen that leaves him coughing up blood.
While Kaneki battles Shachi, Gagi and Guge easily defeat Banjou and Naki slashes Tsukiyama's face, forcing Jiro, Ichimi, and Sante to step in.
Yes, after crippling Kaneki, Shachi scoops up Nurse Taguchi and withdraws with Naki and the rest of Aogiri's fighters, leaving Kaneki kneeling and cursing his own weakness.
Chapter 91 is titled Fortitude, translated from the Japanese Goki, referring to the decisive defeat that sharpens Kaneki's drive to grow stronger.
