Darkwing II

His frame mirrors that of the first Darkwing, yet a few details set him apart: a cape in a deeper blue-ish tone, a triangular motif spread across the upper chest, and an eye mask that leaves his brown eyes on display.

A childhood on Midnight City's rough streets left Benjamin suspicious to his core, slow to trust anyone who had not earned it, as his mentor once did. Where the first Darkwing drew a hard moral line, Benjamin would kill anyone he judged a criminal or a threat, a habit that curdled into near-psychosis and grand delusions in which he cast himself as a hero despite the horrors he committed.

For all that bravado, the prospect of his own death unnerved him, and he cracked when Invincible threatened to feed him to the Shadow-Verse's monsters. Captured and rehabilitated under Cecil, he came to regret his violence deeply and set out to redeem himself alongside the GDA and the Guardians.

Benjamin started as Nightboy, apprentice to the original Darkwing, and took up the full Darkwing identity after his mentor was murdered. His inherited arsenal ran deeper than gadgets: an experimental exoskeleton woven into the suit lent him strength and durability enough to trade blows with superhuman foes, and he could tap the Shadow-Verse, a sealed dimension only he can open, using its portals to teleport, to strand enemies among its predators, and even to listen in on what happens inside.

A trained martial artist and acrobat, he turned that power toward a brutal, indiscriminate purge of Midnight City until Invincible finally stopped and captured him. Rehabilitated by Cecil, he signed on with the Global Defense Agency and joined the Guardians of the Globe. During the Invincible War he threw himself at Nogogglesible, dragging the enemy into the Shadow-Verse and vanishing with him, his ultimate fate left unresolved.
