Radcliffe

Radcliffe is a bald, middle-aged Black man with a weathered face. A past run-in with the Lizard League scarred the left half of his face, sealing that eye permanently shut. His attire reads like a spymaster's: the suit gray, the shirt beneath it white, a matching gray tie, and a black square folded into the breast pocket.

Like the protégé he raised, Radcliffe hides a genuinely caring heart behind a front of composed, authoritative coolness. He governs by the ends-justify-the-means creed and the logic of the lesser evil, prepared to make morally murky calls whenever he decides the planet's safety demands them. He also reads talent sharply and hates to see it squandered, holding that gifted people ought to be fixed and pointed toward the good of humanity.

A forceful, capable leader, Radcliffe climbed over the years to oversee the whole Global Defense Agency himself. He tends to work out of sight, but as a gifted orator with uncommon charisma he draws loyalty and respect from those around him. His earlier days as a field agent gave him deep grounding in hand-to-hand fighting, firearms, and the entire spread of stealth and espionage craft. Inside the agency he acted as both boss and mentor to Cecil Stedman, grooming him on purpose to take over the role someday.
