The Elephant

He is encased head to toe in a bulky gray outfit built to echo an elephant's thick hide, sometimes carrying a metallic, armored sheen. A large stylized elephant head serves as his mask, finished with a trunk and tusks. The costume's mass and toughness make him a convenient sparring target for rising heroes like Oliver.

The Elephant is under no illusions about his rank; he knows he sits near the bottom of the villain ladder. He is a blunt instrument, more muscle than mastermind, a hired brute who relies on force and size and can flare into anger quickly, though he takes no pleasure in needless cruelty.

A committed vegetarian, he genuinely wants others to give up meat and keeps resorting to violence to push the point, always without success. What truly stings him is being treated as a punchline. Repeated stints as a training dummy, especially for Kid Omni-Man, breed real resentment and a wish to finally be taken seriously.

Sometime before the series he acquired his powers and a suit that boosted his toughness, then slipped into crime under the name The Elephant. Because he posed so little threat, Omni-Man regularly used him as a practice opponent for Invincible. During one city rampage he casually seized Invincible by the trunk and flung him through a building.

He later stormed a Burger Mart, furious at the diners for eating meat and insisting a plant-based diet was the source of his strength. Invincible, Atom Eve, and Kid Omni-Man showed up, and Oliver punched him into a car before taking guidance from Atom Eve. Realizing he was once again just a training dummy, the Elephant voiced his irritation, which did nothing to stop Oliver from continuing to pummel him. His body can lift roughly six tons and shrugs off harm well beyond a normal person, aided by a synthetic polymer hide that resists small anti-tank weapons and temperature extremes.
