Personality

By her own tastes she has little patience for anything she finds unbeautiful or for men who smell. She gave her heart to the mysterious Solido Naso despite knowing next to nothing about him, and when he walked away she went on loving him even as she raised their daughter entirely on her own.

History

She made her home in Sardinia, where around 1984 she fell for a young man who gave his name as Solido Naso, drawing close to him though she understood almost nothing of his life. Their bond produced a daughter, Trish, but the man soon left, and Donatella raised the girl alone for some fifteen years.

When illness overtook her early in 2001, she set out to find Trish's father, and that search alerted the Passione boss to the child he never knew he had, spilling over into open conflict as rogue members of his own organization chased the same lead. Donatella died in a hospital roughly two months before Bucciarati's team was assigned to guard Trish. She survives in the story only through a photograph the boss himself had taken of her, a startlingly tender act for a man of his nature.
