Appearance

With green, leaf-marked skin and a face that calls to mind a mischievous gremlin, this infant looks nothing like an ordinary child. A pair of grooves runs down each side of its skull, its ears jut out to sharp points, and its eyes carry the look of tiny seeds. A leaf-shaped emblem sits on its brow, while the Joestar family's star birthmark is stamped across its back.

Personality

In temperament the creature behaves much like any newborn. It grows curious about its surroundings, gnaws on whatever it can reach including Anasui's hair, drifts off to sleep frequently, and swallows dirt, prompting Jolyne to compare it to a growing plant. It fixates on the Joestar star mark, latching onto Jolyne to stay near it, and it responds strongly both to DIO's bone and to the fourteen sacred phrases recited from the priest's diary.

History

The being took shape after a splinter of DIO's bone drank in the souls of thirty-six prisoners. The bone spread by touch, and each infected inmate wandered toward sunlight before slowly turning plant-like. Jolyne herself caught the infection while trying to intercept the carrier, and once the shell holding the newborn began to form, she leapt to seize it despite the danger. D an G's unstoppable Stand then gulped the shell down, dragging Jolyne and Anasui along until Foo Fighters hunted the enemy down.

Once D an G fell, the child hatched and Jolyne's infection lifted. As the pair chased the wandering infant, they learned its guardian Stand, Green, Green Grass of Home, shrinks any perceived threat toward nothing the closer it draws. Anasui eventually corked the Stand inside a bottle and used Diver Down to slip free, though the baby nearly crushed them by kicking the bottle back. Its sudden fascination with Jolyne's birthmark spared them. Not long after, Pucci cornered the group, recited the fourteen words, and the infant tore into his arm to fuse with him.
