His hair falls to a medium length, swept to one side and combed back in smooth, full strands that reach past his ears for a deliberately neat finish, and he favors a dark shirt. The webcomic renders the same character with a far messier head of hair.

On the surface A reads as composed and even considerate, once checking on Kokou after the latter is thrown back attacking Suiryu. His reputation as a killer suggests that warmth may be nothing more than a mask. He insists that murder brings him no joy, framing it instead as a grim game to tally how many lives he can take before his own ends. That outlook disgusts even Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, who judges him fouler than the criminal underworld he came from.

Cold toward human life, manipulative, and fully briefed on the Neo Heroes' scheme to topple the Hero Association and rule humanity through mind control, A treats brutality as a point of pride and hoards his stranger killing methods like trophies. He relishes torture, at one point vowing to break Ryumon in body and mind, and holds that people are wicked by nature. For all his menace he also proves a coward, fleeing both Sonic and Ryumon; when Ryumon turns into a monster, A curls up sobbing and pleading for rescue.

A earns his A-Class bounty as a genuinely capable fighter, and McCoy notes that his style is tailored for killing monsters. His Neo Hero battle suit sharpens already strong skills, letting him fell a horned monster with little effort, though he and his fellow Neo Heroes are thoroughly outmatched when they take on the S-Class criminal Sonic. In close quarters he leans on a deep grasp of human anatomy, wrenching joints to inflict heavy damage, a talent he shows against Ryumon even without switching on his suit. He falls a little short of a trained athlete in raw power but stays nimble and slips most incoming blows.

He brands his approach organized violence and has taught himself to kill by unlikely means, pressing ordinary objects into service, among them water bottles, lotion, chopsticks, and on one occasion a laundry basket. His gear includes the battle suit, which reads his nervous system to amplify his body and carries a life-support system that can be knocked out, a retractable scythe for quick monster kills, and remote-detonated bombs he sets off to finish foes or cover an escape.
