Lost Cat is a bonus chapter from Volume 8 of One-Punch Man. It splits its focus between Saitama's deceptively simple errand to retrieve a missing pet and Genos's far deadlier hunt, as the two unknowingly converge on the same monstrous threat from opposite ends.
Eager to feel useful at last, Saitama accepts a Hero Association job in a cafe before learning what it involves, only to be handed the task of tracking down a runaway cat. Genos meanwhile meets a different staff member who confesses that he lost a Mysterious Being he had raised as a pet and wants it quietly destroyed, with the surrounding blocks cleared under the cover story of a pollution survey.
Saitama hunts for the cat Torako using a vague sketch and grudgingly teams up with a staff member's young daughter, comforting her when she breaks down in tears. Genos follows a blood trail to two beaten A-Class heroes, Peach Terry and Heavy Kong, before the Demon-level Grizzly Nyah drops on him from the walls. As Saitama bluffs his way past the guards Tanktop Tiger and Tanktop Black Hole into the sealed zone, Lightning Genji and Stinger wound the creature, only for a far larger Grizzly Nyah to rise up behind them.
Genos realizes the monster he fought was the offspring, and that the mother had given birth after slipping away. When the enormous Nyah corners the little girl and Torako, Saitama steps in, shields the cat, and kills the beast with ease. He reflects that the errand wore on him more than any monster fight and doubts he suits hero work, a feeling driven home when Torako scratches him and he snaps at it.
In the One Punch Man chapter Lost Cat, Saitama is assigned to find a runaway cat named Torako. He tracks her down with a staff member's young daughter, then saves both Torako and the girl from an enormous Grizzly Nyah by killing the monster with ease.
Lost Cat hints at a soft weakness for Saitama: chasing down the missing cat Torako wears on him more than any monster fight. When Torako scratches him afterward, he snaps at it and doubts he is really suited for hero work.
The monster at the center of Lost Cat is Grizzly Nyah, a Demon level threat that ambushes Genos. A far larger Grizzly Nyah, its mother, later corners Torako and a young girl until Saitama steps in and kills it.
Lost Cat follows Saitama on a Hero Association errand to find a missing cat named Torako while Genos separately hunts down a Mysterious Being. The two heroes' searches converge when a giant Grizzly Nyah threatens Torako and a young girl.
In Lost Cat, Genos fights and defeats a Grizzly Nyah, then realizes it was only the offspring. Its much larger mother had given birth after slipping away, and it is that mother who later threatens Torako and the young girl.
