At a WISE safe house, Sylvia Sherwood briefs Fiona Frost on a joint mission with Twilight scheduled for the following week. When Fiona floats swapping herself into the wife role of Operation Strix, Sylvia shuts the idea down: a sudden change of spouse would attract Eden Academy's scrutiny, and the Forgers already sit well with their neighbors. Fiona mutters that a wife who abandoned the position would leave no alternative, earning a warning not to scheme. Colleagues part before her in the hallway, whispering about the agent they call Nightfall, ruthless, arrogant, and icy.

Fiona times her visit to the Forger apartment for a moment when Yor is alone, offering a forgotten magnifying glass as her excuse. Over a hot drink she probes for cracks, suggesting that raising a child must be exhausting, but Yor answers that life with Anya is genuinely fun and only wishes she could do more for Loid. Fiona has just begun inventing complaints Loid supposedly makes at work when he returns with Anya and Bond. The two agents converse in mouthed code while Anya, reading minds throughout, discovers a stunning truth: this icy spy is desperately in love with her father. Fiona's imagined future includes a minute-by-minute training regimen designed to convert Anya into a Stella-producing machine, and the horrified girl responds by hugging Yor and proclaiming her the finest mother alive. Loid tells Yor she already works hard enough, and the sincerity of his smile, which Fiona learned to read during the days he trained her never to show her feelings, cuts deep. She invents an errand about potatoes and walks out into the rain, grateful that it hides her face, resolving to prove through the coming mission that only she belongs at Twilight's side.

A post-credits short adapts a different story. Sent to bed during a cartoon, Anya sleeps hugging the penguin plush Loid once bought her while Bond glares from the doorway. Morning reveals the toy torn open by teeth and claws. Anya reads the dog's jealous thoughts, screams that she hates him, and sends him into despair. Yor's attempt at sewing makes the damage worse, and Anya refuses a replacement because this penguin was her father's gift, a remark that catches Loid off guard. He stitches it back together, Frankenstein seams and all, Bond offers peanuts as an apology, and dog and penguin seal a peace treaty with a handshake while Loid wishes East and West could settle things the same way.

Sylvia rejects Fiona's bid to replace Yor in Operation Strix and pairs her with Twilight for an upcoming joint mission instead.

Anya learns through telepathy that Fiona is a spy in love with Loid, then sabotages her rival's plans by loudly championing Yor as her mother.

Fiona's flashback reveals that Loid personally trained her, teaching her to bury every emotion, which lets her recognize his genuine smile toward the family.

Bond destroys Anya's penguin plush out of jealousy and earns forgiveness with peanuts after Loid repairs the toy.

The main story adapts Chapter 30 and the post-credits segment adapts Short Mission 3, all within the Campbelldon Tennis Arc. The episode aired in Japan on November 26, 2022.

Bryn Apprill voiced Nightfall in the English dub for this episode only, filling in for Lindsay Seidel, who had laryngitis during the simuldub recording. The opening beat of Yor dwelling on a failed breakfast is anime-original.

In Fiona's fantasy of aiding Twilight, the banknotes she stacks are real East German M100 bills featuring Karl Marx, and the manga's first aid item is dropped. Where Chapter 30 has Yor look straight at the pair from the kitchen, the anime has her observe their reflection in a cabinet's glass.
