Overtime piles up at Berlint City Hall, and Yor volunteers to help Camilla as thanks for the cooking lessons, with Sharon roped in as well. Sharon observes that Yor has grown noticeably more talkative around the office, prompting Yor to reflect on the odd shape of her life: she once kept coworkers at arm's length to conceal her work as an assassin, yet now she socializes freely while carrying even more secrets, a sham marriage among them. She assures Sharon that Anya has recovered well since the hijacking.

With the work finished, Sharon suggests dinner and pointedly includes Yor. At the restaurant, Millie coaxes Yor into drinking, and her coworkers witness her drunk for the first time. Camilla probes for grievances about life with Loid, but every memory Yor surfaces involves him cheerfully handling chores and errands, and she honestly cannot produce a single complaint, crushing Camilla and Millie's hopes of hearing the marriage trashed. When Yor asks whether resenting a partner is normal, the whole table erupts with pet peeves, jokingly framed as motives for murder. Her soaked brain concludes that romance itself manufactures assassins, and she teeters on the edge of confessing her profession.

Her attempts to invent fake complaints fool nobody, and paranoia takes over: if she cannot blend in, someone might report her. Knife in hand, she marches to the doorway and petitions the Shopkeeper for clearance to kill Loid in defense of her marriage, a scenario that plays out as a gory duel before dissolving; the whole episode was a drunken fantasy at the restaurant door. She staggers back to the table wailing that she cannot do it because killing is wrong, which her coworkers read as comedy. They settle on the truth as they see it, that Yor's marriage is sickeningly sweet, and tease her about kissing, with Sharon noting that a kiss at the door is standard between spouses. The revelation floors Yor.

The women part ways impressed with their evening and planning to invite her again. At home, Loid's greeting collides with Yor's panic over the expected kiss; she faints into his arms, imagines the kiss coming, and escapes by backflipping off him onto the floor. As the confused couple sorts itself out, a sleeping Anya mumbles that kissing is a noisy business.

Yor joins her city hall coworkers for dinner and gets drunk for the first time in front of them.
