Efron Etkin
声優Efron Etkin was an Israeli actor and voice actor who became a leading dubbing voice in Israel, most notably voicing Yamcha and other pivotal Dragon Ball characters in Hebrew.
Dragon Ball Hebrew Dub
Etkin was the Hebrew voice of Yamcha, establishing the character for Israeli audiences across the Dragon Ball franchise. Beyond Yamcha, his Dragon Ball work included voicing Captain Ginyu, Korin, Dr. Brief, the Turtle, Bardock in Frieza's flashback, and various villains including Angila, Paragus, Bujin, and Toolo. His consistent presence across Dragon Ball projects helped define the Israeli Hebrew dub's identity.
Career and Legacy
Before his voice acting career, Etkin served as an officer in the Israeli Air Force. He pursued formal training at Tel Aviv University and H.B Studio in New York, bringing professional depth to his voice work. Alongside his anime dubbing, Etkin became celebrated for voicing Disney characters, including Robin Hood and Winnie the Pooh's Piglet. After being diagnosed with cancer in late 2011, he continued contributing to voice projects until his passing in January 2012, just after his 59th birthday.
