This Logia power lets its holder create, control, and transform into flora, branding them a Forest Human. Aramaki, the admiral called Ryokugyu, consumed it, and the name comes from the Japanese word for forest. It is the only known Logia whose element is organic matter rather than a natural fluid or mineral. Its arrival marked the longest gap ever between Logia introductions, hundreds of chapters and episodes after the Yuki Yuki no Mi.

A wielder can sprout, steer, and become plants of every kind, from wood and leaves to flowers, vines, grass, and moss, growing them at speed and moving them freely without the stiffness real trees carry. He can unleash large-scale assaults such as underground root tendrils that snare crowds or even a dragon at once, and those plants rapidly soak up any liquid they touch, dehydrating impaled victims into shriveled husks. Through photosynthesis his plant body sustains him indefinitely given light and water, so he need not eat, and his very presence boosts a land's fertility, leaving lush growth in his wake even across poisoned wastelands. Unlike most Logia, this fruit makes the user a solid rather than a fluid, so attacks cannot simply pass through, yet without Armament Haki they remain harmless since he regenerates like any Logia. He can morph into a towering plant golem of great durability and, if badly damaged, eject himself to regrow from a sapling. Fire is the obvious weakness, but he has trained his wooden body to resist flames, though powerful enough fire can still incinerate him instantly.

Ryokugyu is the sole user, applying the power chiefly in battle. He binds enemies in wooden, root-like tendrils that drain their moisture until they are too weak to resist, and he can even taste the liquids his wood absorbs, as when he sampled alcohol from a pierced barrel. He has lived on photosynthesis alone for three years. In combat he becomes a large tree man to strike with enlarged fists and match giants, and he once grew a spinning flower on his back to fly like a propeller, channeling Armament Haki through his plant appendages for added piercing force. His named moves include Kinniku Mori Mori, raising a tree golem around his body for huge gains in strength and durability, and Bokarin, hardening his wooden form against fire. The fruit resembles the non-canon Mosa Mosa no Mi, though that Paramecia only manipulates existing plants and cannot transform its user.
