Morley

Character

Commanding the Revolutionary Army's West Army, Morley of Fur counts as both a giant and a newkama. Once a pirate who tunneled her way out of Impel Down, she now uses the Oshi Oshi no Mi to shove and shape the earth as if it were soft clay.

Appearance

Portly and heavily furred, this giant wears a Fu Manchu moustache together with a scruffy chinstrap beard. Her clothing barely covers her: a brief plaid skirt, straps fastened around her arms, a blossom emblem on the left forearm, dark gloves, and a dark bowler hat decorated with frilly goggles, plus a strapped weapons pack. Belo Betty compares her appearance to that of a potato giant.

Personality

In keeping with her newkama identity, Morley addresses others with polite, feminine speech and stays cheerful by nature, taking a dislike to anyone needlessly cruel. Any attention she receives she chalks up to a crush, yet she is not flattered by it and felt revolted when Betty joked that the Peachbeard men were sweet on her. Loyalty to Dragon ran deep enough that she would not reveal his location to admirals Ryokugyu and Fujitora. As is common in the series, she carries her own peculiar laugh.

Abilities

Holding the rank of executive and West Army commander grants Morley genuine command over her troops, and the World Government deems her perilous enough to post a bounty of 293,000,000 berries on her head. Being a giant, she carries immense strength and a lifespan far beyond a human's, and at the most recent Levely she traded blows with Admiral Ryokugyu and walked away without injury. Having consumed the Oshi Oshi no Mi, classed as a Paramecia, she can knead the ground like clay, slip through it underground, and fling dense chunks of earth at enemies that keep their original weight. She also draws on Armament and Observation Haki and carries a hybrid harpoon-trident into battle.

More than a hundred years before the story opens she was a hunted pirate held in Impel Down, and her fruit allowed her to carve an escape route, the resulting tunnels later forming the secret Level 5.5 where Newkama Land took root. In time she enlisted with the Revolutionary Army. At the Levely she drove off the Peachbeard Pirates, stole into Mary Geoise, and on the gathering's fourth day joined her comrades in declaring war by smashing the Celestial Dragons' emblem and assaulting the holy city, clashing with Ryokugyu before pulling Kuma free and sinking back into the ground.
