Weather Report

The Stand usually manifests as a brawny humanoid molded from cloud, wreathed at all times in dense fog or drifting puffs of vapor. Vertical bars streak across its eyes, its face sits behind a rigid mask crowned with spikes, and clouds shaped like the winged sandals of Hermes trail from its feet. Knuckle guards, a common trait among close-range Stands, cover its otherwise bare hands, and most artwork paints it white. Even its aura appears to billow as cloud rather than radiate as light.

It rarely shows much temperament of its own, but it clearly guards its master with real devotion, stepping in more than once to stop him from taking his own life. A trace of that loyalty seems to linger even at the end, when it faces Enrico Pucci one last time while lodged inside Emporio Alniño.

At its core the Stand rules the weather by reshaping the atmosphere itself, conjuring wind, rain, and lightning on command. Its touch is delicate enough to brew tiny local climates yet sweeping enough to summon rainfall some thirty kilometers off, and the intensity scales freely, from a downpour blanketing a wide area to a lone patch of sunshine carved out of the storm.

Wind is its most frequent tool. Weather can shove objects from a distance, ride the gusts to move himself, and read tiny shifts in the air to sense a hidden opponent. Up close he sharpens those currents until they punch clean through a body, and he can pack the surrounding air into dense layers that slow incoming attacks, deflect bullets, and even ignite a fist through sheer friction.

His grip on humidity lets him spin water and cloud out of the air. He can force a surge of vapor into a victim until they swell and overflow, flash-freeze liquids into shapes such as icicles of blood, wrap allies in a protective Cloud Suit against a vacuum, or cushion a crash with a bed of cloud. He can also send current through a person's body to puppet them, and, in one memorable stunt, rain live poisonous frogs from the sky. A final subtle trick adjusts the balance of gases in a sealed space, which is how Emporio ends Pucci by flooding him with a poisonous overdose of oxygen.

Concealed beneath all of this is Heavy Weather, an automatic power born from Weather's fury at humanity that switches on without his conscious input. Left running, it fills the area with rainbows; anyone who so much as brushes one begins mutating into a snail, whether by swelling into a giant hybrid, crumbling into a heap of the creatures, or bursting into eggs that hatch at once. The change passes by touch, spares only Weather himself, and traps its victims with softened bodies, sluggish limbs, and fresh vulnerability to predators and salt. The true mechanism is a faint light woven into ordinary sunlight, a kind of overpowering subliminal cue that convinces any living thing that sees it to become a snail. Only the blind escape, which is why Pucci has Whitesnake pluck out his own sight, and once the process begins nothing short of Weather's death can undo it.

The prisoner Weather Report is the Stand's true owner. Late in Stone Ocean it changes hands as a Stand DISC, letting Emporio Alniño borrow its abilities for the decisive stand against Pucci. That victory makes it the only non-Joestar Stand ever to bring down the lead villain of its own part.
