Karera Sakunami

Karera is a slim young woman of average height with long, dark hair whose bangs coil into large curls much like Giorno Giovanna's. She ties a fish-print bandana over her head and wears a dark bralette with a front zipper, a long vest, short shorts, and suspenders linking the two, first pairing them with heeled gladiator sandals and later with striped thigh-high socks and ocean-themed heels. She walks with a distinctive wobble, always seeming about to topple sideways.

Scatterbrained, capricious, and coarse, Karera comes across as an oddball who grates on nearly everyone near her. She is usually upbeat and playful yet swings her mood and topic without warning, and she clings flirtatiously to Josuke, mistaking him for her crush Josefumi. She claims to dream of becoming a clothing designer without ever putting in real effort, though the danger of the Locacaca and the Rock Humans does leave her genuinely uneasy.

She keeps a long list of bad habits, chief among them a career in petty scams, using her Stand to swindle free meals, taxi rides, and cash. Slovenly and near-constantly snacking, she avoids dwelling on her past entirely, save for the unreturned feelings she still holds for Josefumi. No fighter, she prefers to flee her enemies and strike only from an opening once they have stopped watching for her.

Little is known of Karera's youth beyond her estrangement from a family she has no wish to contact. She studied agriculture at T Academy, the very school Josefumi Kujo attended, developed a crush on him, and took to following him around, though she never formally met him or Yoshikage Kira despite appearing in a photo with them. On August 19, 2011, she was waiting at Morioh's harbor when Tamaki Damo and Yotsuyu Yagiyama attacked Josefumi and Kira; Kira quietly tucked Sheer Heart Attack into her hair as a diversion, and she got away unharmed but was driven into six months of hiding from the A. Phex Brothers.

She reenters the story by drawing Josuke into a side alley, convinced he was Josefumi. Her Stand, Love Love Deluxe, lets her control other people's hair, sprouting it on their heads or on objects they have touched, which she exploits for her cons. After learning that Kira is dead and helping Josuke against the A. Phex Brothers, she recognizes that he underwent the Equivalent Exchange, tells him she likes him, and slips away with a promise that they will meet again.
