Summary

Yuji is a physically gifted teenager who prefers loafing in his school's Occult Research Club to competing in sports. His path crosses Megumi Fushiguro, a sorcerer searching for a relic tied to the most powerful curse in history. When his clubmates accidentally release the cursed object and draw spirits to them, Yuji eats Sukuna's finger to gain the strength to save them, becoming the curse's host. Hauled before the higher-ups, he narrowly avoids a quiet execution and is instead placed under Gojo, who introduces him to the school and his sharp-tongued new classmate Nobara Kugisaki.

Gojo tests the pair on a curse-hunting assignment in Roppongi, where both prove they have the reckless nerve the job demands. Soon after, the three first-years respond to a cursed womb at a remote detention center, only to arrive after the inmates have already been killed. When Sukuna seizes control during the fight, he rips out Yuji's heart and takes the body hostage. Megumi's words reach Yuji long enough to reclaim himself, but the effort kills him. The Geto imposter and his curse allies, the ones who planted the finger, gather to discuss the death, with Jogo eager to wipe out humanity. Inside his own soul, Yuji refuses Sukuna's binding vow yet survives a staked duel and wakes once more, reuniting with Gojo.

Gojo secretly trains Yuji to channel cursed energy through controlled emotion, having him keep a cursed doll asleep while watching films. Megumi rebuilds his confidence training with the second-years. When Jogo ambushes Gojo on the road, the strongest sorcerer shrugs off the curse's fire and uses the clash to teach Yuji about domains, beheading Jogo inside his own Coffin of the Iron Mountain. Hanami rescues the wounded curse and they regroup with Mahito.

Aftermath

With the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event approaching, third-years Aoi Todo and Mai Zenin travel to Tokyo to rattle their younger rivals, brawling with Megumi and shooting Nobara with cursed-energy rounds before the second-years break things up. Knowing the Kyoto principal bears responsibility for Yuji's earlier death, Gojo confronts Yoshinobu Gakuganji and vows to dismantle the old establishment by raising a defiant new generation of sorcerers. The arc closes with both students and enemy curses steadily growing in power, foreshadowing threats that will outstrip the special grade ceiling.
