Chojuro Zenin

Short and well along in years, Chojuro kept his hair styled into a mohawk. His face naturally rested in a closed-eyed grin.

Direct insight into Chojuro's character was scarce, yet an undercurrent of self-assurance can be inferred from him. The grin he habitually wore suggests he thought little of those he faced, a tell that most likely traces back to his faith in his own fighting prowess.

As one of the Hei, the strongest sorcerer team the Zenin Clan could field, Chojuro placed at semi-grade 1 or above. During Maki's rampage he demonstrated some capacity in close-quarters fighting and fair mobility, none of which held up against her crushing physical strength.

His innate ability shaped the earth to a degree. Pressing a hand to the ground and activating it, he conjured a pair of huge stone arms that grabbed Maki and pinned her between the palms. She tore loose without trouble, leaving Nobuaki astonished, as he had assumed the prior blow would have left her unable to so much as move. The arena in which Naoya and Maki later did battle was likewise his handiwork, raised through that same power. When Maki ripped the throats from her victims during her attack on the Hei, Chojuro died beside Nobuaki.
