Appearance

Tan-skinned and roughly average in height, Hazenoki had a well-toned physique. His slicked blond hair fell just past the nape of his neck, framing round brown eyes beneath thick brows.

His outfit was unusual: dark brown suspenders fastened by a golden buckle hooked onto wide-cut, olive-green short pants, worn directly over a bare chest with no shirt. He finished the look with long dark socks and chunky red sneakers marked by yellow-orange lines, silver soles, and zippers.

Personality

Hailing from a harsher, more violent era, Hazenoki was a bad-tempered and brutal figure who embraced the savagery of the Culling Game. He liked to draw out his opponents' suffering through torture, yet he would commit to an all-out kill the moment he felt he was being ridiculed. That short fuse clashed badly with the absurdly goofy Fumihiko Takaba, whose constant antics needled him even during a duel meant to end in death; once Reggie fell in a separate battle, Hazenoki had grown so frustrated that he simply abandoned the clash with Takaba altogether.

Abilities

An elite sorcerer whom Kenjaku brought back on the October 31, 2018 night, Hazenoki entered the Culling Game through incarnation and joined Reggie Star's faction, eventually amassing thirty-five points. He carried a strong command of jujutsu fundamentals and the combat skill to apply it, along with an extreme tolerance for pain that let him freely tear out his eyes and teeth to fuel his technique. Reggie deemed him exceptionally dangerous and warned that he would kill anyone who angered him into going all out. His cursed energy manipulation was precise enough to support reverse cursed technique, a rare and demanding skill. He attacked Megumi after failed negotiations, coordinated explosive assaults with Reggie, and later fought a drawn-out duel against Takaba that he could never win, baffled at how the comedian survived bombing after bombing unscathed. He evaded the US army's capture attempt, and during the Shinjuku Showdown he crossed paths with Kenjaku at the Lake Gosho Colony, where the ancient curse user, needing his death to advance the Great Merger, loosed cursed spirits that skewered his neck and blocked his reverse cursed technique before killing him as he hurled a final insult.

His unnamed innate technique, Explosive Flesh, lets him remotely detonate parts of his own body as bombs, typically removing his eyes and teeth to launch as projectiles and explode on command. Reverse Cursed Technique works hand in hand with it, allowing him to constantly regrow the body parts he sacrifices and keep producing fresh explosives throughout a battle, proof of how thoroughly he has mastered the regrowth of his own flesh.
