Appearance

Ogi carries himself as a gaunt, aging man with a slender frame. He combs his black hair back and binds it into a long ponytail. What draws the eye are his dark eyes, set with unusually large pupils so broad that the whites only appear when his lids open wide. His wardrobe stays faithful to old Zenin custom: a white shitagi worn under a white kosode, black hakama below, and pale socks slipped into zori sandals.

Personality

Self-absorbed and firm of purpose, Ogi cared for one thing alone, his own standing inside the Zenin Clan. His immediate family barely registered. He gave his wife no genuine regard and his children none of his compassion, a coldness that traces directly to how both girls had entered the world without any talent for jujutsu. Cynical and steeped in tradition, he bristled at being mocked and once leveled an attack at his nephew Naoya for crossing the line into disrespect.

By Ogi's measure only a single matter ever placed him beneath his brother Naobito, namely the quality of their children, and he laid the blame for never being named family head squarely on his daughters. He valued neither of them and in fact resented them, so hoping to win standing among the jujutsu leadership he put himself forward to frame and personally execute his own offspring. Having struck them down, the lone thought that brought him to tears was the recollection that he had failed to see the killing through. He pronounced his daughters a stain on his life, left them to die, and argued that children ought never to hold their parents back.

Abilities

Rated special grade 1, Ogi believed his ability as a sorcerer matched Naobito's. In an honest one-on-one duel he overcame Maki's native heavenly restricted physique through superior jujutsu craft, dismissing her power as unremarkable beside sorcerers who fortify their muscles with cursed energy. Applying that very reinforcement to himself, he moved with such speed that he could pivot a full half-turn and bring her down in a single sweep, ending the fight at once. The advantage held only until Maki gained strength resembling Toji's; against her renewed self Ogi went all in with his technique and was cut down effortlessly.

His intellect matched his swordsmanship. The plan to pin an attempt to unseal Satoru Gojo on Megumi, Maki, and Mai was his own, a scheme that exposed his cunning, calculating nature. Predicting Maki would return to the clan for arms, he had cleared the cursed warehouse of every cursed tool in advance, and he left Mai incapacitated to serve as a hostage in case the duel turned against him. In combat he relied on the katana as his chief weapon, excelling at single-strike attacks delivered the instant his blade left its sheath. When Naoya insulted him, his edge sat at the nephew's throat moments later, and he readily met Maki in a one-strike contest, though in his own eyes he was a sorcerer first and a swordsman second, so he bolstered his strikes with his technique. His innate ability, Blazing Courage, ejects flame from his weapon; after Maki broke his katana he replaced the blade with fire and could stoke it hotter to turn the flames more lethal. He also used Falling Blossom Emotion, an anti-domain countermeasure adapted to swordplay that wrapped both Ogi and his katana in cursed energy, letting the blade automatically strike whatever that energy met.
