Ultimate Mechamaru and Mahito slam into each other, and Kokichi Muta has to pour every weapon he owns into staying alive, the colossal Mechamaru Mode: Absolute included. A week and a half after that clash wraps, the Shibuya Incident everyone has braced for finally opens.

Surviving an Ultra Cannon fired almost at point-blank range, Mahito weaves around the giant's swings while Kokichi, aware that normal hits cannot wound a soul, runs a concealed scheme. He packs cursed technique into mechanical tubes and launches them like darts; the moment one connects, Mahito's arm bursts, proving the projectiles land. Kokichi keeps the pressure brutal with Miracle Cannon and Pigeon Viola as Mahito morphs and bolts through the woods. Backed into a corner, the injured curse opens Self-Embodiment of Perfection, betting his rival would never gamble on domain expansion ahead of Shibuya. Kokichi endures it, though, having stuffed New Shadow Style: Simple Domain into a tube, then skewers Mahito again, seemingly exorcising him.

The celebration is premature: Mahito tears into the cockpit, and after a frantic point-blank scuffle, the spirit's palms touch Kokichi before his killing strike connects, ending him. At Kyoto Jujutsu High, an oblivious Kasumi Miwa vows to visit Kokichi's true body, never realizing he is already gone. Mahito tells Geto he detonated himself deliberately to fool Kokichi, and the pair confirm every Shibuya preparation is finished. Ten days afterward, when the clock has just edged past 7 P.M. on Halloween night, a curtain stretching four hundred meters seals Shibuya, penning in civilians who learn they cannot leave before Gojo shows. Sorcerer squads ring the perimeter, and at 8:31 P.M. Gojo steps inside the curtain.

This seventh second-season chapter adapts pieces of chapters eighty through eighty-three and reached Japan on September 7, 2023. The anime-exclusive Mechamaru-versus-Mahito sequence is greatly expanded and is widely read as a tribute to the climactic battle of Gurren Lagann. Among the sorcerers stationed around the barrier are Atsuya Kusakabe, who cautions that special grade spirits are certainly lurking below, along with Naobito Zenin, Panda, Maki, Megumi, Nanami, Nobara, and Takuma Ino. Phones get no signal inside, yet the penned civilians face no immediate threat.
