A string of overlapping domain collisions at last swings in Gojo's direction, and his allies begin to hope the win is close. Even so, after being drowned in Unlimited Void, Sukuna still keeps a trump tucked away in the Ten Shadows Technique.

Yuta spots Gojo's nosebleed and stays a little worried for his teacher, but Gojo, totally unbothered, wipes the blood off and, in lockstep with Sukuna, opens his domain yet again. Their simultaneous expansion verifies the Angel's earlier guess that Sukuna, after watching Gojo do it, can also bring back a spent innate technique through reverse cursed technique. Hana muses on whether Sukuna always had the ability, and someone else cracks a joke about how often the group has uttered the phrase cursed technique during the bout. Tense, Kusakabe insists Gojo has to wreck Sukuna's domain inside three minutes, but Shoko pushes back on his gloom, noting that a single second of Unlimited Void can incapacitate Sukuna, so dealing enough damage within that span wins the fight.

Gojo intensifies how heavily he reinforces with cursed energy, and the pair of peerless sorcerers smash together inside their domains, breaking each other's at the same instant, which has everyone remarking on how tight the contest is. Miwa stresses that such a tie most likely proves Gojo is the better fighter inside a domain, and Yuji is certain his teacher can pull off the win. After flooring Sukuna with a heavy left hook, Gojo immediately expands again; Yuta and Higuruma both catch that Sukuna's came just a hair later, under one hundredth of a second, enough for Unlimited Void to land and freeze him for a moment. Gojo pounces and drives a powerful thrust into the chest, crushing Sukuna's heart, then plans to wreck the liver and lungs too, aiming to push him nearer death than Yuji once was at the detention center. The two keep trading blows inside the domain, but Malevolent Shrine fails once two minutes and forty seconds have elapsed, so Unlimited Void claims the clash and locks Sukuna inside the Limitless. As Gojo moves to end it, Mahoraga is abruptly summoned within the domain to guard Sukuna. Confused that the shikigami had no chance to adapt, Gojo readies Cursed Technique Reversal: Red to obliterate it in one shot. Yet Mahoraga plants the Sword of Extermination, driving its tip into the earth, and the domain is torn completely apart, leaving Gojo even more shaken that it has somehow already adjusted to Unlimited Void.

Gege Akutami numbered this Jujutsu Kaisen chapter two hundred twenty-nine, and it sits inside the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. It ran in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 33 of 2023 on July 17, was gathered into Volume 26, and runs nineteen pages. It delivers the first on-page appearance of Mahoraga in the duel and the abrupt collapse of Gojo's apparent advantage.
