Personality

Gentle toward those around him, Ryu responded warmly to Apis as she looked after him, and his caring nature showed in the alarm he felt when Eric flung Apis from his back and hurt her. Age had left him senile at times, to the point that he mistook Luffy and Usopp for food and tried to eat them. For reasons tied to the Voice of All Things, Luffy alone could understand his words and carried his final message to Apis.

Abilities

As a dragon, Ryu was built to soar wherever he wished, though his years usually left him too weak for flight; given enough motivation, he could still take to the air. His body retained real power despite his frailty, letting him deflect and bat away tumbling chunks of stone, knock Eric flying with a single wing strike, and absorb several cannonballs in midair before going down. His lungs were tremendous, capable of a roar so deafening it threw an entire Marine fleet into disarray and sent visible shockwaves rippling across the water.
