Appearance

Lean of frame, Eric has a roughly square face, fingernails that grow long and pointed, and purple hair that twists upward to end in a hook, a shape echoed by his sideburns. His outfit consists of a grey blazer, trousers edged in red down the sides, plus a shirt striped in purple, set off by a gold brooch in the form of a bird's wing and a pair of earrings dangling pearls. Beneath his glasses his eyes prove to be extremely narrow, the eyes themselves barely visible at all.

Personality

Self-interest defines Eric. Though Nelson paid him to bring back Apis and the Sennenryu so the dragon-bone elixir could be brewed, his real aim was to exploit Nelson and keep that elixir for himself. Cruelty and ruthlessness mark him too: chasing immortality, he was ready to sail into the Calm Belt and imperil the entire fleet around him. When Luffy bested Nelson, Eric had no tolerance for his old employer's stuttering and cut him down for blocking the way, and he was equally willing to slaughter the Straw Hats and Apis in order to take Ryu. Beaten by Luffy, he nursed his resentment and came back hoping to settle the score.

Abilities

Capable enough to earn Nelson's hire, Eric fights with notable agility, springing aside to dodge Luffy's strikes. His self-assurance ran deep; he showed no unease on first meeting the Straw Hats and no fear at all when he learned Luffy was a Devil Fruit user, a revelation that had clearly unsettled the Marines accompanying him. His power flows from a Paramecia-type fruit, the Kama Kama no Mi, which lengthens and sharpens his fingernails and lets him fling blades of razor wind, the trait behind his Whirlwind name. Those same nails double as cutting weapons at close range, able to slice clean through a person.
