Bloodcurdle

Bloodcurdle is a target-based Emitter Quirk that debuts in Chapter 47 and reaches the anime in Episode 28. Chizome Akaguro held it until All For One stole it from him during the Final War, and it stands as the final power All For One ever took from anyone.

Swallowing a sample of somebody's blood locks that person in place for a limited stretch. The Quirk also reshapes the user's tongue, stretching it to extraordinary length and studding it with countless small papillae. Where the sample comes from does not matter, whether smeared on a blade after a stabbing or dried on a discarded curative, and contact with the tongue is the whole of the activation. Once it takes hold, the target is immobilized long enough for a finishing move to land.

Duration hinges on blood type. For Chizome, type B holds the longest, with AB, A, and O falling off in that order down to the briefest, and eight minutes is the ceiling regardless of the victim. Since types vary widely and he cannot identify them on sight, he never knows exactly how much time he has bought. The paralysis can also be broken outright by Quirks that expel blood or rewrite its type, which is how All For One's own Bloodlet and Antigen Swap cancel it.

Chizome Akaguro built the Hero Killer's reputation on it, cutting Pro Heroes with bladed weapons and then licking their blood off the steel. He hunted one-on-one and ambushed in dark, narrow alleys, drawing first blood quietly so nothing interrupted the activation. His skill with swords and knives let him overpower targets in armed combat, which offsets how demanding the Quirk is to trigger. As the vigilante Stendhal he had an easier route, gathering blood from used curatives that criminals had thrown away and paralyzing them with it on the spot.

All For One killed Stain during the Final War and claimed Bloodcurdle for himself. He used it on All Might after the Symbol of Peace had burned through every trick the Armored All Might had left, freezing him in place for a public execution. Katsuki Bakugo, fighting as Dynamight, arrived in time to stop it.
