Fat Absorption

Fat Absorption, read in Japanese as Shibō Kyūchaku, is the Transformation Quirk of the Pro Hero Taishiro Toyomitsu, better known as Fat Gum. It takes effect on contact and debuts in Chapter 132 and Episode 68.

Anything that touches the user's body adheres to it and sinks down into their body fat. That gives Taishiro a formidable buffer against blades, gunfire, and attack-oriented Quirks, and anyone who throws a punch at him risks getting caught in place long enough for him to restrain them.

He can also take in the raw force behind an attack, hold onto it, and return all of it through a single counterpunch. Stockpiling that force costs him fat as it accumulates, so his defense thins out while he charges, and if the counter fails to bring the target down he is left with essentially nothing.

Body mass is the prerequisite, maintained by gluttonous eating. A slim frame renders the Quirk inoperative, and once he has shed his weight it takes three days to build back, with the power unavailable throughout. Quirks that feed on his fat and flesh work against him the same way, since the mass they consume is exactly what the ability runs on.

Taishiro Toyomitsu is the only known holder. He leans on the Quirk for arrests, enveloping criminals in his large frame, and despite his size he makes a point of subduing targets as fast as he can. In combat he tends to plant himself in front of his allies as a living shield, since most attacks barely register against him.

Against an enemy strong enough to break that defense on power alone, he can instead sacrifice the fat and answer with one counterblow carrying the total impact that enemy has dealt him.

His named Ultimate Move is Fataxi, which uses the same adhesion to carry anyone smaller than himself inside his body, escorting allies into a fight or out of one.
