High Specs

High Specs, written in Japanese as Hai Supekku, is a Mutant Quirk with internal range, and it belongs to Nezu. It appears in Chapter 15 of the manga and Episode 10 of the anime.

It sits in rare company. Only a handful of Quirks are known to reside in animals, the others being Queen Bee, shared by Kuin Hachisuka and Bee Pop, and the eponymous power of the Monster Cat. In effect it also resembles Saiko Intelli's IQ, which likewise pushes its holder's mind to extraordinary levels.

The Quirk delivers intelligence, perception, reaction speed, and comprehension at a level no person can reach. That grant is what allows Nezu, an animal, to reason, speak, and conduct himself as a human would. His body changed as well: High Specs left him stronger, more dexterous, and taller than a rat has any business being.

Strategy is where the power shows most clearly. Nezu can assemble elaborate plans on the spot, to the point that from one fixed vantage he can calculate a chain reaction capable of leveling an entire industrial zone off a single well-aimed wrecking ball. The same mind makes him a flawless leader, a fact borne out by his position at the head of U.A., the leading hero school in Japan.

There is an uncomfortable side to it. His recall is perfect, nothing escapes him, and so the experiments performed on him remain permanently fresh. The resentment he holds is an emotion belonging to humans rather than his own species, and it may well color the way he thinks.

Nezu is the only known holder of High Specs. He occupies the principal's office at U.A. High School, a post his Quirk-driven intellect and leadership qualify him for outright.
