Rendered in Japanese as Sekigaisen, Infrared belongs to the Emitter category and works at medium range. It first surfaces in Chapter 94 of the manga, with the anime holding it back until Episode 148.

Nothing in the series identifies who carried the power before All For One took it, and the Quirk has never been depicted operating on screen. Its effects are known through description rather than demonstration.

True to the label, the ability floods its holder with heat-based perception, wide enough that an entire environment can be mapped without sight. Comparisons drawn to serpents suggest a form of thermal vision, though the series stops short of confirming the exact sensory shape.

For All For One the value is practical. Blind eyes cease to matter when warmth outlines every room, corridor and opponent around him. The reading also runs deeper than geometry, since shifts in a person's emotional condition register to a limited degree.

Two limits apply. The perceptive field only reaches so far before it fails, and equipment or powers built to interfere with sensors can scramble what it reports.

All For One is the only confirmed holder shown in the story, folding Infrared into the enormous stack of powers he keeps on hand and leaning on it to offset the loss of his sight.

An unnamed individual possessed it first. That person's identity, history and manner of using the Quirk are never revealed. All For One stripped it from them with his signature stealing Quirk.
