Summary

The fist that landed was never the real attack. With All For One's guard opened by the decoy, All Might moves One For All back into his right arm and spends it on the last technique of his career. United States of Smash tears a crater into the ward, and when the dust settles the villain lies in it, beaten senseless. All Might lifts his arm for the news helicopter, forcing himself back into his hero form as he does, and a watching country erupts. Edgeshot wants him to stop burning what strength remains, but Gran Torino holds him back so the man can be the Symbol of Peace one final time.

Rescue work begins across the rubble. Endeavor stands with All Might as All For One is sealed into an iron maiden, and with the restraints closed, All Might turns to the camera and points. You're next. The public hears a promise to every villain alive and celebrates harder. Izuku Midoriya hears the truth, that the era has closed and the message names him, and he starts to cry.

All For One is transferred the following day into a facility built for criminals the death penalty cannot answer for. Wheelchair-bound and on life support, he asks his escort where he has been taken, then apologizes when the guard snaps at him, explaining that six years of an Infrared Quirk have substituted for his lost sight and that the prison's sensors have left him with nothing to read. The guard is stunned that a man in this condition traded blows with All Might. Stain sits in one of the cells they pass. The prisoner himself feels no bitterness. Defeat will sharpen Tomura Shigaraki's hatred and his regret at failing to save his master, and it will push him to grow, which is what teaching is for. On that measure, he decides, he has outperformed All Might, and Tomura is the one who will inherit his Quirk. The war between the two powers passes down to Tomura and Izuku.
