Overclock

Overclock is a close range Emitter type Quirk that first belonged to Iwao Oguro, the hero O'Clock. All For One took it from him and later handed it down to Number 6. The name nods to running a processor past its rated speed, casting the body as the machine and the brain as the chip.

On the surface it reads as a speedster power, carrying its holder into supersonic movement where everything around them appears frozen. Iwao explains the real mechanism: the Quirk stimulates the brain so that perception and thought race ahead of the outside world, and the body follows. Ordinary use lands somewhere between three and ten times normal speed. Trigger a fight or flight response and that jumps to dozens of times over, quick enough to leave bullets behind and make the world look completely still.

Senses sharpen along with the mind. A user can follow speech played back at three hundred times its normal rate, and can read the small involuntary reactions of another person well enough to steer them without their knowledge. Number 6 pairs it with his healing factor to force cells to grow quickly, closing terrible wounds fast, and applies the same acceleration to the parasitic Bombify cells inside him, merging them into his body or sprouting an entirely new limb from them.

The drawbacks are severe. Running it starves the brain of oxygen, capping any burst at a few seconds and demanding a cooldown between uses. Iwao notes that oxygen deprivation or a serious head injury can seal access off completely, and implies that heavy damage elsewhere on the body does the same. Deep concentration drains the available window through a sort of brain drain, and pushing that focus too hard risks shutting the power down. Knocked airborne, the user loses the acceleration entirely. Number 6 eventually engineered the Hi-Crawler transformation, which erased every one of these limits while active.

Iwao Oguro wielded it as the hero O'Clock until All For One took it. All For One later passed it on to Number 6, who made it his defining weapon and built several named techniques around it. Instant Eight delivers eight punches in a single moment, which was his ceiling at the time. Crawler Style, borrowed from The Crawler, drops him onto all fours to cut wind resistance and reach higher speeds. Hi-Crawler reshapes him into a four eyed monster locked into permanent acceleration. Sniper Style rebuilds his body around rifle components, turning him into a living precision weapon.
