Overhaul

Overhaul is an Emitter type Quirk requiring contact, wielded by Kai Chisaki of the Shie Hassaikai. It breaks matter down and rebuilds it with the user's bare hands, working equally on the living and the inert. Once something is taken apart, Kai can leave it in pieces, restore the original, or build something else out of it, and the whole process resolves instantly.

Contact from a single finger is enough to start it, and Kai decides whether the effect claims a whole target or one selected piece of it. He removed Mr. Compress' left arm and nothing else. Turned on his surroundings, both phases fire in quick succession, letting him raise walls, spikes, platforms, and pits anywhere from one point of contact. Broken ground blunts this badly, since disconnected fragments fall outside the reach of a single touch.

Holding two things, one in each hand, he can weld them into a single entity carrying components and Quirks from both, and that hybrid can be merged again with further material. Applied to a person, the rebuild can restore them to a biologically flawless state, healing injuries and ailments alike, though Kai admits the taking apart hurts a great deal.

Everything depends on his arms, which double as his Quirk Factors. Once his arms were wrecked by Mr. Compress and Tomura Shigaraki, the power went with them. He also has to touch something, leaving him helpless in midair or anywhere he cannot make contact, and a brief cooldown separates uses.

Kai Chisaki is the only holder. Outside combat he used the Quirk on Eri, destroying her body, harvesting remains, and reassembling her, so that he could refine her Rewind carrying blood into a drug that reverses a target's Quirk Factor and leaves them Quirkless. Following yakuza habit, he erased evidence by taking victims apart, removing what he wanted, and restoring them intact, a method he also used to press people into joining his organization.

In a fight he leans on instant disassembly and on reshaping the ground into fields of spikes, blocking attacks and repositioning himself as he goes, which makes him dangerous from any distance. Fusing himself with Shin Nemoto gave him a monstrous frame, an extra pair of arms to channel Overhaul through, and access to Shin's Confession. He repeated the trick with Rikiya Katsukame for another jump in power. His mysophobia works against him, since gore thrown off by his own deconstruction can set off a panic if it lands on him. Tomura Shigaraki's Decay amounts to a modified version of this power, with the restoration half stripped away.
