Flect Turn

Nothing about Flect Turn reads as human coloring. His skin glows a luminescent light blue, and when Reflect is finally overwhelmed the coating dissipates to reveal ordinary pale flesh beneath. He stands two meters tall and narrow, his dark blue hair shaved to the scalp, with a goatee and arrow-shaped earrings. Molded dark blue masks sit inside his eye sockets and around the lids, there to stop light bouncing off his own eyes and blinding him.

His everyday dress is a red robe over a golden belt, grey trousers, combat boots, and glove-like prostheses fitted with fingertips. Small discs set into the clothing hold his Quirk's stored energy. For villain work he adds a long white cloak lined in dark red.

He is calm, articulate, and utterly committed to ending Quirk society. Quirks, in his reading, are a disease, and the Quirk Singularity theory promises they will eventually slip their leash and finish humanity off; contributing to humanity's salvation is therefore the only way the afflicted can atone, and the Quirkless are the only pure people left. He kidnapped scientists and held their families over them, and he regarded none of it as cruelty, only as necessary hygiene, without a trace of remorse.

The root is his own life. Reflect hurt everyone who touched him, so no bond ever formed, and he watched parents, friends, and loved ones peel away one at a time while the world around him was too busy enjoying its powers to notice anyone drowning. He does not really hate humanity; he considers himself its savior and prophet, which is precisely why he is merciless toward whoever he classes as beyond saving.

He honors bargains, up to a point. Eddie Soul's children went untouched once Eddie pledged himself to Humarise and helped build the Trigger Bombs, but Eddie was executed the moment his secret disarming key surfaced. He offered Rody Soul the same shape of deal, sparing Otheon in exchange for the key, and praised the choice as honorable until he learned it was cover for Deku.

The whole edifice is hypocritical and he never notices. He calls Quirks a sickness and claims to reject his own while leaning on it constantly, and he lets his followers use theirs freely, some true believers and some simply buying survival. He says he loves humanity while dosing innocents with lethal quantities of Ideo Trigger to send their powers berserk, which is to say he manufactures the exact catastrophe his doomsday theory predicts. Offered Deku's point that he could have tried harder to reach people rather than surrendering to his misery, he called the young hero filth and reaffirmed his hatred to the end.

Reflect runs constantly whether he wants it or not, sending any attack and its effect straight back at whoever threw it, and he can bank an attack for later rather than returning it immediately. Anything that touches him bounces. The limits are that it wears down over a prolonged fight and that a sufficiently powerful attack simply cannot be reflected, which is how Deku's United States of World Smash finished their bout.

That near-invulnerability let him contend with Deku on even terms, using his base's turrets to grind his opponent down while never needing contact to knock him flying. His Arachne rig, a belted support item with nodes running up the spine and four segmented mechanical arms tipped in spiked mirrors, extends the Quirk: he channels absorbed energy through the mirrors as thrusters to hover, and aims his own turret lasers off them precisely enough to wound Deku repeatedly. Nothing short of One For All pushed to 100 percent put him down. He also carried the Trigger Bombs' activation key, shaped like a modern dagger, set off by a button on the hilt.

Away from combat he is a planner. He steered years of preparation, predicted the heroes' arrest attempts and slipped them, and broadcast the bombs' locations specifically to create panic that made the search harder, since the bombs doubled as traps with armed cultists waiting. His charisma assembled thousands of members across branches worldwide, and coercion covered the rest, as with Alan Kay and Eddie Soul. His reach included Trigger smugglers in Japan and, most usefully, Otheon's chief of police, which let him mobilize a national manhunt with Deku listed as a mass murder suspect.
