Fourth Kind

Character

Known professionally as the Chivalrous Hero: Fourth Kind, this government-employed Pro Hero runs an agency built on drills, discipline and unglamorous civic duty. Eijiro Kirishima and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu learned that firsthand during their internships, where a cup of tea served too warm earned them both a punch to the head.

Appearance

A stitched scar cuts diagonally across the left side of Fourth Kind's face, and the jaw beneath it, along with his neck, looks to be encased in metal. He is built broad and heavy, and the two extra limbs granted by his Quirk make his frame read as wider still. Grayish-brown hair sits buzzed close to the scalp. No eyebrows grow above his narrow, wide-set eyes, though the ridge of skin there is thick enough to suggest them, and his teeth line up unusually straight.

For work he wears a black suit tailored with four sleeves, finished with a cyan tie and a row of three yellow diamonds running down the front. A heavy gold ring circles every one of his twenty fingers.

Personality

Discipline defines how Fourth Kind runs his office. Neither Eijiro Kirishima nor Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu received any leniency from him during their internships, and the smallest lapse was enough to set him off. His preferred correction was a fist to the head, delivered on the spot. Tetsutetsu came to dread the man's short temper, worrying about what punishment was waiting the day Eijiro made the pair late.

History

Quad Arms is a plain Quirk with a plain benefit: the two additional limbs make Fourth Kind stronger. He fights accordingly, closing distance and dragging targets into his reach. A katana sits in his office, though he has never been shown handling it and it is likely there for decoration.

Eijiro and Tetsutetsu report to his agency after the Chivalrous Hero extends offers to both of them, telling the pair that their nerve at the sports festival caught his eye. He tries to explain that raw force alone will not make them heroes, snaps at them to be quiet when they talk over him, then walks them through his salary structure and how the office actually operates. He later orders them to brew him tea. Finding it too warm, he punches both boys while their hardening Quirks are up, lecturing them that a client would never be impressed by that cup. He claims to enjoy striking their defenses, quietly hiding how much his knuckles ache.

After the incident in Hosu he catches the two arriving late and hits them again, this time over punctuality, and he drags them out to clean a neighborhood park on the grounds that civic work is part of the job. Their lack of enthusiasm draws another scolding, which pushes both of them to work harder. Eijiro tries to return for a Hero Work-Study, only to learn that Fourth Kind is busy and does not take students for that program. He is called up for the Paranormal Liberation War, joining the force assigned to storm the Gunga Mountain Villa and arrest the Paranormal Liberation Front. He has to dive clear when Gigantomachia, obeying Tomura's summons, barrels through despite Mt. Lady's attempt to hold him. Once the giant is drawn away, Fourth Kind keeps fighting until nearly the entire Front is subdued, and he is among the heroes watching over the 16,929 captives as they are loaded into police wagons.
