Appearance

Wavy black hair reaches his shoulders, swept off his forehead before falling back to frame either side of his face. His eyes are small, dark, and oval, set above a rounded nose and a mouth noticeably smaller than most.

He works in a black shirt cut to the elbow, marked with a pair of thin pale grey rings around the shoulders, over black capri trousers with tights beneath them and black sneakers. A broad red scarf sits high enough on his neck to hide his chin, and his hands are finished with slim red wristbands and fingerless gloves in a deeper red.

Personality

First impressions get him wrong. Next to his louder classmates he holds himself quietly enough to read as a boy who prefers his own company, when in fact he talks freely and thinks highly of what he can do. He simply wants his work to look elegant while he does it, and that insistence on grace leaves him faintly apologetic about his own skill, even in moments where the skill is being spent on someone else's behalf. Supplementary material sums his temperament up as high strung.

History

His class enters the Provisional Hero License Exam in the wake of All Might's retirement. Ms. Joke brings her students over to Shota Aizawa and the Class 1-A group from U.A., and Itejiro notes aloud that the U.A. contingent is sitting the exam as first-years. Everyone changes into costume inside Takoba National Stadium, and once Yokumiru Mera finishes the orientation the Ketsubutsu students lay a trap inside the arena. They have studied Class 1-A's powers from what aired during the U.A. Sports Festival, intending to eliminate them first, a licensing exam ritual known as the Crushing of U.A.

The opening barrage of ball projectiles fails to land, since Class 1-A has grown since the festival. Shikkui Makabe hardens a batch and hands them off, and Itejiro's Quirk, Boomerang, does the rest: it lets him throw with flawless accuracy and steer whatever he throws while it is still in the air. Confident in his aim, he drives the projectiles underground to come at the U.A. students from a direction they cannot watch. Kyoka Jiro ruins the plan by tearing the ground apart with Heartbeat Fuzz, which exposes the buried shots, and he sends them back at Minoru Mineta, only for Mina Ashido's Acid Veil to dissolve them.

Yo Shindo then wrecks the battlefield with Tremoring Earth and scatters the U.A. students. Itejiro joins a group hunting stragglers and they corner Izuku Midoriya while he is already tangled with the false Camie Utsushimi, a Shiketsu High School student, an intrusion Itejiro finds unfortunate. Izuku slips the trap by destroying the ground under them. Regrouping, the class listens to Yo argue that with schools from everywhere now crashing the fight, the smart move is to wait for the rest to exhaust themselves. The plan holds and Ketsubutsu clears the first phase.

Phase two puts the candidates through rescue work in a mock disaster zone. The Ketsubutsu students set up a first aid area and pull the H.U.C. actors out with visible experience. Gang Orca and his simulated villains break in partway through, and Itejiro's class moves the wounded clear before joining the other candidates to learn who had earned a license.

His named techniques both borrow from the moon. Trajectory: Crescent Moon sends hardened projectiles under the earth on a curving path that stays out of sight until impact, and Full Moon is a second recorded move. Coming from a solid rather than prestigious academy, he still proved he could operate as part of a unit against the best students in Japan. Once the Final War is over he graduates into professional hero work.
