Kaoruko Awata

Light blue skin sets Kaoruko apart at a glance. She is slim but decently built, with wide yellow eyes under thick lashes and short dark blue hair, ruffled, curving both up and down around her head and parted toward her right.

Her hero costume centers on a dark blue crop top worn skintight, white and high-collared at the neck, zippered down the middle, and cut so everything below the chest is left bare. Black tights sit under loose white shorts marked with a yellow stripe down each side, and her thick white boots are lined along the shafts and ringed in yellow at the center. A transparent visor covers her whole face with an air filter mounted at either side, and her gloves are plain dark blue.

Kaoruko takes the job seriously and commits to it. She stays level even in the stretches when she fears Sir Nighteye is about to let her go, a worry that comes around with some regularity.

She exists because of a fan design contest, created by the winner, Abara Chiita. The original submission made her sixteen and a U.A. student; by the time she reached the manga she had been aged up to twenty-one and reassigned as one of Sir Nighteye's sidekicks.

Bubble produces bubbles carrying any aroma Kaoruko has encountered at least once, sweet or foul as the situation demands, which suits her to the close support role she fills alongside a squad.

She was part of the Shie Hassaikai Raid Team during the assault on Overhaul's organization. Her surname carries the kanji for bubble and field, and her given name combines the characters for fragrance and child.
