Nirengeki Shoda hits you once, and then, whenever he chooses, hits the same spot again with several times the force. Class 1-B's vice representative is its conscience, humble enough to disqualify himself on principle, and the reason his teammates' attacks land far heavier than they should.
The eyebrows give him away. They angle upward almost permanently, and combined with large wide eyes and small pupils they leave him looking apologetic even when nothing is wrong. He is heavyset and short for his year, with a round face under short ice-blue hair.
His Hero Costume is a black suit with a high collar, trimmed in pale white lines around the collar and hem and patterned similarly across the torso and shoulders, worn with plain black trousers and white boots to the knee. Over his left eye sits a blue scouter-style device, wired to a radar mounted on the back of one glove. Eight years past the Final War the costume is largely unchanged, though yellow visors now sit over both eyes and he has grown a small moustache.
Credit he has not earned makes him uncomfortable. That instinct cost him a place in the U.A. Sports Festival's later rounds, which he withdrew from himself once he realized Hitoshi Shinso's Brainwashing, not his own strength, had carried him there.
Class 1-B trusts him accordingly, which is why he is their vice president. He fights focused and cooperative, syncing cleanly with Yui Kodai and Reiko Yanagi, and afterward he complimented Mina Ashido on the uppercut that beat him, which is roughly the opposite of holding a grudge. He also has no interest in the feud: Nirengeki does not envy Class 1-A, does not push his class's rivalry with them, and stays out of Neito Monoma's tirades entirely. His classmates describe him as 1-B's conscience, friendlier and considerably less competitive than the people around him.
Twin Impact works in two beats: he lands a blow, then at a moment of his choosing forces that same point of contact to absorb a second hit worth several times the first. He handles it well and fights capably one-on-one, and he turns the recoil into movement, jumping higher and dashing faster than his build suggests. The Quirk scales with what it is given: the harder the original blow, the more devastating the repeat, which makes him most valuable pointed at his allies rather than his enemies. He can amplify their attacks or the collaborations he sets up with them, since his own output has a ceiling, and the second impact doubles as propulsion, launching an object at an opponent or throwing a weapon out of reach. He named the technique Fire.
The final round of the Joint Training Battle showcased both halves. He magnified the cooperative attacks Reiko and Yui ran, then read Minoru Mineta's erratic movement well enough to drop him with a single punch. That performance caught the eye of Shishido, the Lion Hero, and interning under the No. 13 Pro sharpened both his flurry and his ability to read a situation ahead of time.
He is unusually shrewd, too. Before that match he proposed copying the approach Setsuna Tokage's team had used a round earlier, arguing his group had a similar balance against Class 1-A and that a roster built on technical Quirks should hide and ambush rather than engage. Later in the same fight he worked out instantly that Mina had blocked one of his strikes despite not being able to see it, going off his tracker alone. That tracker is the point of his gear: the gloves and half-visor record where he has landed blows, so he can trigger the second impact at the moment it matters.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
Nirengeki Shoda's Quirk is Twin Impact, which lets him land a blow on an opponent and then, whenever he chooses, force that same point of contact to absorb a second hit worth several times the force of the first.
Twin Impact works in two beats: Nirengeki Shoda lands an initial strike, then triggers a delayed second impact at the same spot that hits several times harder. The stronger the original blow, the more devastating the repeat, which makes it especially powerful when used to amplify an ally's attack.
Nirengeki Shoda withdrew from the later rounds of the U.A. Sports Festival himself after realizing that Hitoshi Shinso's Brainwashing, not his own strength, was responsible for carrying him that far.
Nirengeki Shoda serves as Class 1-B's vice class representative, a role his classmates trust him with since he is considered the class's conscience, friendlier and less competitive than those around him.
Nirengeki Shoda's ultimate move is named Fire, and he showcased it during the Joint Training Battle by amplifying Reiko Yanagi and Yui Kodai's cooperative attacks.
