Sankyaku Kamehara

A camera rarely leaves Sankyaku's hands. He is young, his light hair cropped close, his eyes narrowed to near-permanent slits. Beneath the vest jacket and dark trousers he favors, an extra leg sits between the usual two, the product of his Quirk. The outfit is otherwise unremarkable, the plain uniform of someone who expects to stand behind the lens rather than in front of it.

Photography consumes him. Sankyaku will pour every available hour into the craft, and his method rests on waiting: park yourself near a subject, watch long enough, and eventually the frame that captures who they really are will present itself. Forcing the moment strikes him as cheating.

That patience masks a fragile ego. He frets constantly about intruding, and any time he does end up tangled in a subject's day he spirals into guilt and assumes they now resent him. Izuku Midoriya's plain honesty is what finally talks him out of the habit, persuading him that stepping forward beats waiting forever.

Midnight books him for a week with Class 1-A, the idea being that the students should grow comfortable around cameras before the public turns its attention on them. He throws himself at the assignment, shadowing the class relentlessly, and by the closing slideshow he has landed a defining image of everyone in the room save one. Izuku is the hole in the collection.

Granted permission to keep trying, he stretches the effort out with nothing to show for it. Izuku eventually offers to cooperate, and Sankyaku turns him down, still committed to catching something unstaged. Their conversation breaks off when scaffolding at a nearby build site starts to give way. Izuku moves to clear the bystanders, and Sankyaku, sensing the shot he has been chasing, scrambles onto a roof for the angle. The scaffolding topples sideways, straight at him.

Izuku reaches him first and hauls him clear. Sankyaku's immediate reaction is panic at having become an obstacle, but Izuku brushes it off, caring only that nobody was injured. The reassurance lands. Sankyaku admits he would actually welcome the collaboration, asks outright for help, and the two end up shooting a staged set with Izuku dressed in All Might's and Mirko's costumes. His Quirk, Tripod, supplies the third leg he braces against for steady frames, and his name plays on the equipment twice over: the given name reads as tripod, while the surname's turtle and meadow kanji nod at the word camera.
