Seiji Shishikura

Purple hair falls straight across Seiji's forehead, split toward the right so that the sweep buries his left eye entirely, while the back of his head breaks into softer tufts. His eyes are narrow and angled, the pupils inside them tiny specks of black, and his height lands close to unremarkable. The Shiketsu hat stays on regardless of what else he is wearing.

Classes put him in Shiketsu's standard issue, a white collared shirt over dark trousers, identical to what everyone else there wears. His hero gear is far more deliberate: a black overcoat trimmed in red, its collar climbing so high it stops just short of his mouth, with two red-edged flaps turned down over it. The sleeves end at the elbow, capped by broad red cuffs strapped over the upper arm, and a white armband striped in black rides the right one. Over all of that hangs a black apron falling past the knee, unadorned except for red cords laced twice and tied behind his neck. Gloves cover only three fingers on each hand, and his boots are black.

Eight years on from the Final War, he has gained height. His costume keeps the Shiketsu cut with minor revisions, his bangs are combed back neatly beneath the hat, and a domino mask sits across his face, fitting his post as a captain of the prison guard.

Dignity is the whole of Seiji's creed, drilled into him by Shiketsu and held above every other consideration. He stands with his hands clasped at his back, speaks in an ornate register, and collects the honorific Senpai from those around him almost by default. From that vantage, crudeness disqualifies a person from heroics outright, and he applied the standard so literally once the Provisional Hero License Exam began that knocking unworthy candidates out mattered more to him than his own passing grade. Judgments come fast and without much inquiry.

U.A. itself he admires; its first-year students he does not, reading Class 1-A as a stain on the school's name. Katsuki Bakugo draws the sharpest disdain, and Seiji lectured him repeatedly mid-fight about what his conduct says about the institution behind him. His composure has a soft spot, though. A jab from Katsuki about the size of his eyes cracked it instantly, and he snapped back that they were large and handsome.

Coldness only runs so deep. He writes Camie Utsushimi off as an airhead for her loose, sunny manner, yet the discovery that Himiko Toga had been walking around wearing her face during the exam left him worried for her and furious with himself for missing the substitution.

The blind spot is his own reflection. Seiji takes his own worth as settled and struggles to examine his conduct. Chizome Akaguro's ideas about reforming heroics clearly reached him, and he will not concede that a villain shaped his thinking. A Shiketsu instructor and Nagamasa Mora both read him the same way, as a young man who forces his values onto everyone around him and came out worse for the Hero Killer's influence. That failing, not his combat record, is what cost him the license, and he absorbed the verdict without much visible change of heart.

Pressure reveals better material in him. All For One killed his father, and during the Final War Seiji said plainly how much rage he carried and how satisfying the villain's death would be. He declined the impulse anyway, recognizing that surrendering to it would serve All For One's purposes, and turned instead toward the example his father set, committing himself to bringing villains down and shielding people.

A place at Shiketsu already implies a great deal, since the school carries a reputation as the strongest hero course in western Japan, and Seiji commands respect among peers who all cleared that bar. During the licensing exam he put down several candidates on his own, then outmaneuvered and beat Katsuki Bakugo and Eijiro Kirishima together before Denki Kaminari arrived to pull them out. Three U.A. students working in concert was the price of stopping him.

Meatball, his Quirk, grants control over raw flesh. Turned on an opponent, it folds the body into a shapeless mass and leaves them unable to act. His own tissue answers him more freely still: he can shed pieces of it, swell them out, and steer them at a distance for either attack or cover, which pushes his style toward ranged and support work rather than straight brawling. By the epilogue that skill set has carried him to the No. 41 slot in the Pro Hero rankings and into a prison guard captaincy.
