Hellish Hell

Izuku pieces the aftermath together through the Hero Public Safety Commission's paperwork. Before the raid began, Re-Destro had agreed to a joint venture with the Commission, well aware they suspected him but could not turn down his products. The meeting was an ambush, and the man in the room was a Double. It detonated into a surprise attack that killed and maimed Commission staff, Madam President among them, dissolving only after declaring that his people want order without order and that the seeds are already in the soil.

The operation went forward anyway. The report walks from the opening of the raid to the escape of the man in Tomura's body and seven Near High-Ends, and quietly minimizes what the work-study students did. Garaki is booked and interrogated, Gigantomachia is airlifted out, Mr. Compress goes to a hospital bed, and Nomu are hauled off for study. At Gunga, Edgeshot and Cementoss beat the genuine Re-Destro and Geten, and Trumpet is taken along with 16,929 Liberation members. Raids elsewhere net more, including pro heroes who had been feeding the Front. Still gone: Spinner, Dabi, Skeptic, 132 soldiers, and Himiko, who slips away because nobody can be spared to chase her.

In the rubble Ochaco and Tsuyu dig out a boy and his sister, then split up. Ochaco reunites a dying man with his wife and keeps moving, past shelters already past capacity, and hears a pro hero standing in the wreckage say he cannot do this anymore and should find other work. The U.A. students find Midnight's body and grieve her along with the day's other dead: Crust, Majestic, X-Less, Native and more.

Garaki's deposition confirms the worst of it: Mirko did kill Tomura when she destroyed the capsule, and what brought him back was not the current but All For One's power carried on his own dreaming hatred, at a cost paid in heroes' lives. Across the country people argue over Dabi's video and whether Endeavor's career survives it. That evening, deep in a forest, All For One announces that nobody gets a tomorrow, because this is his turn now, and sends the Near High-Ends to Tartarus.

Re-Destro's Double attacks Hero Public Safety Commission headquarters, killing Madam President. The Paranormal Liberation War is declared concluded, with 16,929 Front members captured at Gunga alongside Re-Destro, Geten and Trumpet, while Spinner, Dabi, Skeptic, Himiko and 132 soldiers escape.

Midnight's death is discovered by the U.A. students, and Majestic, Crust, Native and X-Less are confirmed among the fallen. Garaki's testimony establishes that Tomura genuinely died and was revived by All For One's power rather than the resuscitation equipment. All For One, still occupying Tomura, orders the assault on Tartarus.

Built from chapter 296, the first pages of 298 and a page of 300, the episode aired 7 January 2023 in Japan and 21 January in English. It introduces the second-half theme songs, Ours and North Wind.

The Double's visit to the Commission is expanded to include the drive over and the attempted arrest, and Madam President's death is made explicit. the attempt by Wash, Thirteen, Pixie-Bob and Present Mic to block the escape is cut, while Edgeshot and Cementoss defeating Re-Destro and Geten is added, with Edgeshot's arms left uninjured unlike the manga. Captured villains travel by bus rather than aircraft container, the mourning scene is lengthened and given dialogue, and Izuku's narration frames the whole recap. Garaki's interrogation and charges, surviving Nomu held for research, and the confiscation of hospital equipment are all anime-only. A continuity slip: the airlift of Gigantomachia contradicts Episode 141, which states he was never moved from his resting ground.
