The Chain Thus Far

Himiko's Doubles spill from "Kurogiri's" gate and swamp the wrecked Gunga Mountain Villa, and Uravity comes through behind them, shoved into the portal by Froppy's tongue and carrying her along. Himiko lets her own face surface through the Twice transformation and glares up, telling Uravity there is nobody left here to talk about love with. The clones swamp the heroes while Dabi's Blueflames spread. Uravity floats herself and Froppy up to survey the field, where Tsukuyomi and Earphone Jack join them; the missing ear makes both girls flinch, though losing only that was luck, and Tsukuyomi says the plan to keep the villains separated is dead.

Below, Endeavor fights through Doubles and meets Dabi in the air. Seeing Phosphor copied from his youngest son, he asks what became of Shoto. Dabi answers that the boy proved too strong and stubborn to deliver as a gift, so he will settle for burning everything else their father values. All For One, pleased, flies for "Tomura" and is intercepted by Hawks, who has worked out that the villain is not as in control as he pretends. Hawks shouts for Endeavor to hold Dabi, since Operation Troy is finished and everything here will roll straight to Deku if this line breaks.

On the floating campus, Doubles overrun the platform held by Manual, Eraser Head and Phantom Thief. Pinned and outnumbered, Phantom Thief shuts his eyes on reflex, dropping Erasure from the transforming villain. The flesh ball in "Tomura's" chest splits open around a screaming face, an explosion destroys the electromagnetic barrier, and with Skeptic holding U.A.'s central command the levitation system dies and the campus starts falling toward the sea. Molted into a fresh body with "Kurogiri" beside him and his original personality restored, Tomura tells Deku to stop trying to save some ghost of him, because he is Deku's villain. Deku cannot chase him or the school; Gearshift is still on cooldown, and the Second User points out that the villain is equally frozen by his own unfinished merger.

Skeptic moves on the evacuation system and finds his monitor filling with looping, overlaid GIFs of Optic☆Kitty performing "The Pump". La Brava, recruited by the police and stationed in the room from which All Might and Naomasa oversee the war, has traced him and revived a prank she once ran on the sloppy servers at Feel Good Inc. He yanks the relevant system unit and runs. She has crippled his hold but must rewrite the levitation program from scratch with scavenged parts. When an officer regrets betting on villains, Naomasa says he sees something human in her, as he did in Yuga, and that villains are people whose hearts deserve to be examined for their origins. Down below, a line of heroes cuts off Skeptic and his puppets: Hound Dog, Grand and Ms. Joke, and Hound Dog pulls off his muzzle, marveling that the two criminals he arrested at the School Festival now hold their future.

Beneath the falling campus, Gentle bounces on a Gently Trampoline with La Brava's Lover Mode already applied. Encouraged by her and Naomasa, and repaying both Deku and the police who let him see her again after he stopped the Tartarus jailbreakers, he launches upward and catches the school on the elastic barrier of Gently Super-Lover, wondering whether Deku still fights to make someone smile. Mandalay relays that an air trampoline caught the campus, and Deku knows immediately who it is; both men weep, one at finally being useful, the other in gratitude. Then Daigoro warns that Tomura is lowering a hand to use Decay. Deku is too spent to move, but two cone-shaped bullets strike the villain's skull and blow his hand off at the wrist. Kilometers away, awake and heavily bandaged, perched on a rain-soaked rooftop, Lady Nagant lowers her transformed Rifle arm.

Erasure is knocked offline, completing "Tomura's" molt into a new body with his original personality intact, and Skeptic's hack drops U.A. from the sky.

La Brava hacks Skeptic out of U.A.'s systems, and Gentle catches the falling campus with Gently Super-Lover.

Lady Nagant returns, sniping Tomura's head and hand to save Deku from Decay.

Adapted from the end of Chapter 375 through Chapter 378. Chapter 377's opening, in which an unidentified speaker widely assumed to be All Might describes heroes withering as villains thrived, is cut here and later repurposed for Episode 160's introduction in Season 8, recontextualized and featuring an adult Izuku.

This marks the first on-screen use of Skeptic's Anthropomorph Quirk, since the manga scene was previously skipped, and its depiction changes: a touched object glows and produces a puppet rather than a liquid emerging from his hand. The reunion between La Brava and Gentle is depicted here, and the Gently Super-Lover debut is lengthened to include the jump from the first trampoline.
