Fat Gum Agency

Taishiro Toyomitsu, the BMI Hero known as Fat Gum, owns this Hero Office, which operates out of Esuha City in Japan's Kansai region. It appears in Chapter 146 of the manga and Episode 73 of the anime.

Wedged between two neighboring structures, the round-roofed building is built as a caricature of its owner. The upper stretch forms his face, with a black band standing in for his mask and two circular windows for his eyes, and a row of windows below arranged into his distinctive grin. His initials frame the ground floor, an F and a mirrored F flanking a G that wraps the entrance door, with his name posted between them. A decorative arm holding a takoyaki ball juts from the left side. The interior undercuts all of it: a table, an oversized dark chair, and almost nothing else.

Twice across My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi pulls Fat Gum into police operations against the Villain Factory's Trigger production and distribution. The first targeted the drug entering the country at Osaka's SS Mall in Super Minami, during a festival for mascot idols; the man behind it, Number 6, was identified but triggered a code that sent the mechs rampaging through the venue. Fat Gum kept the casualty count at zero, though the machines destroyed every piece of evidence and the villain escaped after wounding numerous officers. Weeks later, with the police having traced the Factory to the Onomura Pharma Corp., Naomasa paired him with Eraser Head and Monika to probe the company's associates and then to join the raid itself, where Number 6 turned up flanked by Bombers, blew the labs apart, and fled to the Tokyo Sky Egg. Fat Gum survived the blast along with everyone else on the operation, and the heroes ultimately spoiled the attack.

The agency is better known as a work-study posting. Fat Gum took on Tamaki Amajiki, whose considerable potential was smothered by his lack of spirit, and worked at drawing him out; on advice from Mirio Togata, and with Tamaki's help, Eijiro Kirishima eventually signed on too. A patrol through Esuha Market ended with the trio beating a group of villains but Tamaki taking a bullet that temporarily erased his Quirk, the first Fat Gum had heard of any such drug. At the hero meeting at the Nighteye Agency that followed, Sir Nighteye laid out what he had deduced: Overhaul could produce a substance that destroys Quirks permanently, and the girl Eri was being held to supply the raw material. Fat Gum, disgusted, demanded they be hunted down, and spent days investigating Shie Hassaikai properties until Nighteye located Eri underground.

The raid began at 8:30 the next morning, and resistance and setbacks scattered the assault group. Tamaki faced three of the Eight Bullets alone and won, but was hurt badly enough to be out of the operation. Fat Gum and Eijiro fell into a trap against two more, took a punishing fight, and emerged victorious only to withdraw for first aid, Eijiro's injuries being the worse of the two. The raid ended with Izuku defeating Overhaul and freeing Eri, and the wounded were hospitalized without any life-threatening damage. The cost landed elsewhere: Nighteye died of his injuries, Mirio lost his Quirk to one of those bullets, and the serum and bullets both ended up in the hands of the League of Villains.

With work-studies suspended after Nighteye's funeral in October, Tamaki and Eijiro said their goodbyes until the program could resume. When U.A. restarted it, Fat Gum took both back and added Class 1-B's Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu. By late March, with heroes mustering for a mass assault against the Paranormal Liberation Front, Fat Gum and Tamaki were placed on the Villa Raid Team storming the Gunga Mountain Villa while Eijiro and Tetsutetsu were held in the Villa Backup Team.

Taishiro Toyomitsu owns and runs the office. Tamaki Amajiki, Eijiro Kirishima, and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu all served there as work-study trainees.
