The Lurkers

Written as ラーカーズ and read Rākāzu, The Lurkers took shape once All Might retired and crime began climbing, one of several alliances heroes formed to cover the gap. Edgeshot extended the first invitation to Kamui Woods after the events at Kamino, an offer that reportedly left Kamui crying for two hours. Mt. Lady joined afterward, and the trio made the arrangement official only once rumors of it had already been circulating for a while.

Three members is a small roster, but the rankings make the case for the team's weight. Edgeshot held fourth in Hero Billboard Chart JP standings before slipping, Kamui Woods climbed from seventh to fourth, and Mt. Lady eventually reached third after starting at twenty third. Their Quirks cover very different ranges, which gives the group unusual versatility for its size.

Edgeshot leads. The team remains active, and it takes on trainees during the Hero Work-Studies alongside its own casework.

Early missions pushed Edgeshot and Kamui Woods up the standings, while Mt. Lady landed at twenty third and made no secret of her irritation. Given a live microphone at the ranking event, Kamui promised to keep working hard under Edgeshot's banner.

When rising villain activity pushed the Hero Public Safety Commission to restart the Hero Work-Studies, four students attached to the team: Minoru Mineta, Denki Kaminari, and Hanta Sero out of Class 1-A, plus Ibara Shiozaki over in Class 1-B.

Those trainees came along on the World Heroes Association operation against Humarise, an anti Quirk cult threatening a coordinated Trigger Bomb attack. The Lurkers flew to Egypt for the assault on the Cairo branch, which fell with hundreds of arrests but no bombs recovered, so they stayed to dig. Humarise then announced a two hour countdown to detonation worldwide, and the team split its effort between evacuating panicking civilians and hunting the devices, fighting cultists posted as guards once they found them. The cult's headquarters in Otheon was stormed and the countdown killed, and The Lurkers went home to Japan.

At the Paranormal Liberation War they drew the Gunga Mountain Villa Raid. Chargebolt, Mt. Lady, Kamui Woods, and Edgeshot joined the raid proper while Cellophane, Grape Juice, and Vines worked the Backup Team, a mostly student unit meant to catch anyone slipping past the front. The heroes seized the initiative until Tomura Shigaraki summoned Gigantomachia, who smashed through the blockade with the original League of Villains riding along. Mt. Lady went down trying to hold him, and Kamui Woods was helping Midnight sedate the giant when League members knocked them both aside. Students later got a heavy sedative into Gigantomachia with Mt. Lady's help, though not before whole cities were flattened. Back at the villa, Edgeshot beat Re-Destro, and hundreds of Front members were taken into custody.

Afterward the team helped Deku and the Top 3 hunt All For One at the Creature Rejection Clan's mansion, which detonated because the villain had expected them. They survived, regrouped in a warehouse, and joined the debate about hero society and whether the truth of One For All should be shared more widely.

Edgeshot, whose real name is Shinya Kamihara, founded the team and leads it, and his solo victory over Re-Destro stands as the group's single biggest scalp.

Kamui Woods, born Shinji Nishiya, was the first recruit and the one who publicly tied his career to the team's success. Mt. Lady, real name Yu Takeyama, completed the lineup and made the sharpest climb in the rankings of the three.

Denki Kaminari, Hanta Sero, Minoru Mineta, and Ibara Shiozaki trained under the team during the second round of Hero Work-Studies and fought beside them in Egypt and at Gunga Mountain.
