The Hover Soles come out of U.A.'s Department of Support, designed and assembled by Mei Hatsume. They take the form of a pair of oversized metallic boots, each one carrying fan-style thrusters inside the housing.

Fired up, the thrusters hold the wearer off the ground. That opens up sharper mobility and a considerably better jump than the legs alone would allow.

Descent is covered too. The boots work as landing gear, softening an impact that would otherwise be absorbed by the wearer.
