Chapter 113

A cage of flame, built from Shoto Todoroki's fire and Inasa Yoarashi's wind, closes around Gang Orca. The trapped Hero is impressed that either of them could still work a Quirk while fully paralyzed. He had no patience for their earlier squabbling, but the combination move earns his respect, as does their willingness to fix what they broke by working together. The grunts flattened by Shindo's quake get back up, see their boss besieged, and go for Shoto, who throws up a small iceberg to stop them. Further out, the grunts heading for the rescue area learn their boss is in trouble. Izuku Midoriya drops in and knocks three of them down with Full Cowl - Shoot Style, and Mashirao Ojiro arrives before the rest can retaliate, taking out several more and reporting that rescue work is nearly finished with backup close behind. Mera counts three Help Us Company members left to save, after which the second exam can end. Mina Ashido and Fumikage Tokoyami arrive and drop more grunts, examinees from other schools filter in, and a long tongue flattens several attackers out of nowhere. It belongs to Tsuyu Asui, who reveals her Camouflage lets her turn invisible. She confirms to Mashirao that the rescues are mostly done. Shiketsu High turns up as well, Nagamasa Mora clearing grunts with his hair.

Gang Orca, still inside the burning prison, was never worried, having planned for this. He douses himself with water to avoid drying out, roars the whirlwind apart, then asks the two of them what comes next. Izuku answers with a Full Cowl kick powered by One For All, which the No. 10 Hero blocks. Inasa and Shoto are startled to see him there, and Shoto remarks that Izuku turns up to the rescue right to the bitter end.

Before the fight can go further, Mera announces that every Help Us Company member has been rescued and formally closes the Provisional Hero License Exam. Scores will be tallied and results presented; the injured go to the medical office, everyone else changes and waits. The grunts apologize to Gang Orca for underperforming, blaming the restrictive protectors. Gang Orca reflects that even without the protector, and with more time on the clock, the fire prison and Izuku's ambush might have hurt him badly enough to stop him fighting.

Patched up and back in school uniforms, the examinees gather at a screen. Mera thanks them and explains that Help Us Company staff and his Headquarters colleagues weighed both the quality and the character of their conduct under crisis, then says everyone who passed will find their name listed alphabetically on the screen behind him. Eighty-nine examinees made it. Izuku searches for his name, finds it, and is stunned. Inasa sees that his is absent and already knew, while Shoto takes it in with a solemn face.

Shoto and Inasa's fire prison keeps Gang Orca contained long enough for the examinees to finish off his sidekicks.

Tsuyu reveals Camouflage, which allows her to become invisible.

Izuku squares off with Gang Orca, but the exam ends before the fight develops, once the last Help Us Company members are rescued.

The results are announced: eighty-nine examinees pass. Izuku is among them, while Inasa and Shoto are not.

Kohei Horikoshi's chapter 113 ran on October 31, 2016 in issue 48 of that year, spans seventeen pages, and closes out the thirteenth volume's exam material between Chapter 112 and Chapter 114.
