Chapter 152

Tossing the case to Shin, Overhaul reflects on what the weapon cost to build. Whatever Eri's body emits originally wore off on its own after a day or two, and locking that effect in permanently took the organization years of work. Money and time still capped the run at five bullets. What pushed him to make them at all was the fall of All For One.

Ordered to shoot, Shin hesitates, because only he grasps how precious each round is and none can be wasted on a target who might simply phase it. The solution arrives when he realizes what Mirio will always do: he swings the barrel toward Eri. Mirio is already moving. He read her danger off her body, since she never screams or weeps when killing intent lands on her, only shuts her eyes, clenches her teeth and goes silent, a reflex ground into her by years of fear.

The gun fires as he covers her. Eri opens her eyes to find him smiling above her. His mind goes to his childhood, to a family Quirk so unhelpful that his father abandoned any hope of heroics, and to the refusal to accept that verdict. Relentless training shaped Permeation into something usable; Sir Nighteye saw what was there and took him on as a sidekick, drilling the Quirk into a genuine combat tool. Alongside Tamaki Amajiki and Nejire Hado, he became one of the Big Three.

The bullet begins unmaking Permeation. Overhaul lectures that Quirks let people dream of mattering, which he considers a sickness, and while Shin celebrates he laughs at the smile on a boy whose life's work has just been reduced to nothing. Then Chronostasis comes flying at him, kicked there by Mirio, who arrives to punch his arm and tell him none of it was wasted, because Lemillion is still Lemillion. The counterattack passes through him, and Shin cannot understand why the Quirk still works.

Fifteen minutes since Mirio caught up, five since the round struck him. Permeation finally dies, leaving him to fight the last third of the battle Quirkless, and Overhaul at last starts landing damage. Spikes tear him up. Badly hurt himself, Overhaul jeers at the delusion of heroics and at any attempt to save Eri, blaming that thinking for society's rot and promising to cure it with her power. He raises a spike to run Mirio through, and Mirio shouts his name, which is exactly what he hates. Then Deku crashes in.

The origin of the Quirk-destroying bullets is explained, including the five-round limit and All For One's downfall as Overhaul's motivation.

Shin Nemoto aims at Eri to bait Mirio, and Mirio takes the Quirk-destroying bullet himself while shielding her.

Mirio's backstory is shown, covering his family's Quirk, Sir Nighteye's mentorship, and his rise into the Big Three.

Mirio keeps fighting for five more minutes before Permeation fails, then continues Quirkless.

Lemillion is chapter 152 of My Hero Academia, written and drawn by Kohei Horikoshi. It was published September 11, 2017 in issue 41 of that year, runs 19 pages, and belongs to Volume 17 in the Shie Hassaikai arc.

Overhaul, Lemillion and Shin Nemoto appear on the cover. The chapter takes place in the Shie Hassaikai Compound with a flashback to U.A. High School, features the One For All and Overhaul Quirks, and turns on the Quirk-Destroying Drug. Episode 74 adapts it. The author comment observes that old doodles reveal how little their creator has changed since his student days.
