Summary

Free of the Flood Zone and the villains in it, Izuku Midoriya, Minoru Mineta and Tsuyu Asui take stock. Tsuyu asks what comes next, Izuku suggests calling for help, and then she spots Shota Aizawa holding off a crowd in the Central Plaza. Izuku decides they should watch their teacher work and cut in wherever a gap appears, so the weight is not all on him.

Elsewhere the students are already winning. Shoto Todoroki flattens every villain in the Landslide Zone with ice and no visible effort. In the Mountain Zone, Denki Kaminari, Momo Yaoyorozu and Kyoka Jiro face their own group; Momo produces an insulator sheet to cover herself and Kyoka, which lets Denki unload his electricity without hurting them and drops the villains outright.

Shota cuts through the plaza until he reaches the man in charge. He lands a hit on Tomura Shigaraki, and Tomura catches his elbow and begins crumbling it. A punch puts the villain on the ground, and two more attackers go down after him. Then something monstrous appears at his back.

Near the exit, Kurogiri and Thirteen trade blows, and Kurogiri wins by turning the hero's own Quirk around on her, leaving Thirteen crumbling to dust and out of the fight. Tenya Ida sprints for the door with Kurogiri chasing. The warp gate opens in his path, and Mezo Shoji throws himself into Kurogiri to hold him there long enough for Tenya to keep running.

Izuku, Tsuyu and Minoru arrive at the Central Plaza to find Shota broken on the ground, wrecked by the creature. Tomura tells the students to pass a message to All Might: the artificial human called Nomu is here for him.

Notes

Know Your Enemies is chapter 16 of My Hero Academia, written and drawn by Kohei Horikoshi. It was published October 27, 2014 in issue 48 of that year, runs 19 pages, and appears in Volume 2 as part of the U.S.J. arc.

Class 1-A, Shota Aizawa and Thirteen appear on the cover, which is presented alongside its sketch version. Hard Head and Tesla debut here. Quirks shown include Hardening, Dupli-Arms, Engine, Warp Gate, Black Hole, Decay, Erasure, Creation, Earphone Jack, Electrification and Half-Cold Half-Hot, plus an unnamed tether Quirk, with Binding Cloth as the super move and the Capturing Weapon and Eraser Goggles as items. Episode 11 adapts the chapter.

Two errors are noted: the English chapter cover mislabels Mezo Shoji as Shota Aizawa, and Katsuki's Grenadier Brace is drawn on the wrong hand.
