Sleepy

Hidden inside a shed, Himiko Toga folds as blood loss catches up with her. She holds onto the feeling of love and tells herself she has drawn nearer to them again.

Up in the tower, Re-Destro reflects on her life. Society leaves no room for those who differ, he says, and so a girl like her gets stamped a deviant and a villain; he asks whether the outcome can honestly be laid at her feet. Curious, he explains, meant to use Himiko to tell the public how strange it is that conformity is still demanded of a species that has moved past normal.

Skeptic enters to complain that she had no business on the front line and was too valuable to spend. Weeping, Re-Destro murmurs about the preciousness of life, hers and every fallen warrior's. Tomoyasu adds that the footage is useless anyway, because Himiko refuses to fit the tragic heroine mold.

Giran questions what the footage is even for. Tomoyasu seizes his face and mocks his failure to grasp the situation, then explains regardless: the cameras exist to demonstrate why ordinary people need the freedom to use their Quirks, especially where Heroes are absent. Giran asks whether any of it will change a thing and calls them lunatics. Re-Destro replies that the madness belongs to everyone else and faults the broker for having no imagination.

Down below, what remains of the League is still trading blows with the Army's warriors. Spinner asks how much time is left before Gigantomachia stirs, and Mr. Compress puts it at eighty more minutes. Twice notices Himiko is gone. Trumpet calls the warriors to attention and announces that Curious has fallen for the cause. Following Re-Destro's lead, he whips them into a fury and tells them her sacrifice must not be wasted. Compress compares him to a preacher, and Twice observes that religion pays.

A crowd converges on Tomura. Sleepy, his vision begins to warp. He notes what happens when drowsiness takes him: still objects start to move, sounds arrive from nowhere, and his whole body seems to glitch. Fragments of memory push through.

In a study, a girl slides open a drawer and produces a photograph. Keep it quiet, she says: the woman pictured is their grandmother, and her guess is that she used to be a hero. Tenko wants to know the point of all this, and why the photo had to be shown to him at all. Whatever their father said, Hana answers, she stands with him.

The present returns with Tomura seething, unable to drag the rest of the memory up, calling the whole sensation nauseating as he vaults a brick fence. He touches one man in the oncoming mass, and the man begins to crumble. The Decay does not stop there; it runs onward through the crowd. Spinner is horrified by what he is watching. Tomura vomits and remains drowsy.

The sight of a whole crowd erased pushes Dabi to pad his own tally. Before he can, a hooded figure with a concealed face nearly crushes him with oversized hands of ice.

Himiko's injuries finally sideline her.

Chitose Kizuki's death is confirmed in the wake of her duel with Himiko.

Hana Shimura is established as Tenko's sister, and Tomura turns out to have long known his grandmother once worked as a Pro Hero. Tenko's father debuts on the page, pictured as a boy beside his own mother.

Decay gains a fresh wrinkle: the crumbling no longer stops at whatever Tomura's fingers reach.

An opponent armed with ice cuts Dabi off.

Fifteen pages in Volume 24, published May 13, 2019 in issue 24 of 2019. The anime covers it across Episode 109, using pages 2-3, 6-7, and 9-15. Himiko Toga is on the cover, and Hana Shimura debuts.

Set in Deika City. Incite, Decay, Blueflame, and Ice Ply all appear. The Revival Celebration continues and the fight between Dabi and Geten begins.
