Chapter 232

The clone inside the tower spins off more of himself, and those in turn produce copies of Tomura, Dabi, and Mr. Compress. Re-Destro is genuinely impressed by the reach of the ability. The Twices immediately fall to squabbling over which of them is real until one cuts it short and moves to rescue Giran.

Rikiya erases that copy without effort. The president of Detnerat explains that Giran holds no value as a target, since he never joined the League officially, though he promises to kill the broker if more clones appear. The Tomura copy shrugs it off, pointing out they outnumber him. Dabi and Mr. Compress line up their attacks, the clones try to stop them and arrive too late, and Rikiya swells his left arm with Stress and sweeps every copy away in a single motion.

One dissolving clone spends its last strength making a fresh one. That copy reaches Giran and recoils at his mutilated right hand. Giran apologizes for eventually giving up information despite holding out, and Twice tells him he is guilty of nothing. Rikiya reads the scene as proof of his own thesis: for an organization with a goal, unnecessary feelings are only shackles, which is why the Liberation Army will crush the League.

The Tomura clone calls Re-Destro's ideals lofty and attacks. The Grand Commander, startled that anything survived his swing, answers with a story. An ordinary woman bore a superpowered child during the years such people were hunted. She pleaded for compassion, insisting the power made her son no monster, that it was simply his Quirk, and begged for a world where he and others like him could live as freely as anyone. Her pleas drew ridicule, were buried, and she was finally murdered by a faction opposed to Quirks.

Tomura already knows the woman as The Mother of Quirks, and Re-Destro apologizes for assuming ignorance before finishing the account. Vigilantes rose, the government partnered with them to settle the chaos, her words were revived as campaign material, and Quirks became accepted. What followed were laws restricting how Quirks could be used.

Destro declared that outcome a betrayal of what his mother died for and launched a revolution for unrestricted Quirk use. Re-Destro intends to carry that legacy forward, and he asks the clone whether the ambitions of a ragtag pack of hoodlums with nothing but wreckage in mind could ever outweigh the Army's dream.

The clone does not answer. It tells Twice to build a cushion around Giran instead: knocked past the window frame by the earlier attack, it had spotted the real Tomura closing on the skyscraper, and the collapse was already certain. Tomura lays a palm against the wall, Decay runs through it, and the building comes down entirely. Re-Destro lives through the drop and at last stands before Tomura, who places him from the Detnerat commercial. A black substance spreads across Re-Destro's body as he says he will never hear what Tomura would have answered.

Re-Destro's Quirk appears to be a muscle amplification type.

Destro's history surfaces: rejected by society over his Quirk, he began his movement after his mother was murdered.

Tomura brings the tower down, and the two leaders finally stand face to face.

The chapter was published on June 17, 2019 in issue 29, spans fifteen pages, and appears in Volume 24. Its Japanese title is 異能と“個性”, read Inō to Kosei. Twice, Tomura, Dabi, Mr. Compress and Giran share the cover, and Episode 110 adapts it.

Everything happens in Deika City. Double, Blueflame, Stress and Decay are used. The clash between Twice's Doubles and Re-Destro both begins and concludes inside this installment, as part of the Revival Celebration.
