Chapter 233

The real Twice prepares a transfusion for Himiko, and since her blood type is unknown to him, the plan runs through a copy of her. His clones start arguing over who does the copying until Jin reminds them this is neither the time nor the place for pettiness. With the double made and the transfusion ready, a clone scouting the area runs into Skeptic and his squad of puppets. Tomoyasu closes on Twice and Toga, spawning fresh puppets while chanting Jin's name and denying, over and over, that he has ever failed.

Elsewhere in Deika City, Spinner and a batch of clones push through Liberation goons toward Trumpet. The speeches are what make the man dangerous, so Spinner has decided that removing him solves a problem for Tomura. He needles the politician for lingering near the front lines, but Koku brushes the bravado aside and triggers a Detnerat device that produces Sevens Loud, a mask that amplifies Incite and sends his followers at Spinner and the clones with fresh fury.

Spinner tries creeping up the walls to reach him. Trumpet dismisses Gecko as a Quirk good only for clinging, mocks Spinner's years as a hikikomori, and tells him he has no power to change anything. The tower falls in the distance just as a Liberation soldier grabs Spinner in a hug and wounds him with a Quirk. Koku sends his subordinates to help Re-Destro while Spinner frees himself by cutting the soldier's neck.

Wounded, Spinner remembers the shut-in he used to be and does not pretend it was anything but pathetic. Seeing Stain on television handed him a purpose. His answer is a speech: he is a nobody who accomplishes nothing without standing on other people's shoulders, no shame attaches to that, and Trumpet is no different from him. Koku asks if he seriously puts the two of them on one level.

Where the tower stood, Giran climbs out of the ruins unhurt, shielded by Twice's clones. He finds Tomura squared off against a Re-Destro grown huge on Stress. Tomura taunts him about his dwindling numbers and asks where the bravado went. Touching the ground, the League's leader spreads Decay outward while a clone pulls Giran clear of it. Re-Destro dodges the spread, voices his anger, and strikes. Tomura barely evades and loses part of his left hand along with one of his family's hands. Rikiya seizes him and starts snapping the injured hand in payment for his dead subordinates.

Out on the city's edge, Slidin' Go and the other heroes in Re-Destro's pocket direct traffic to keep the Meta Liberation Army's operation out of sight. Then an intense rumbling starts rolling toward Deika City.

Spinner's past is filled in.

Three Quirks get names: Gecko for Spinner, Incite for Koku Hanabata, and Stress for Re-Destro. Koku's villain alias is also given as Trumpet.

Tomura Shigaraki and Re-Destro begin trading blows.

Skeptic reaches Twice and Toga while the blood transfusion is being set up.

Bright Future ran on June 24, 2019 in issue 30, spans fifteen pages, and sits in Volume 24 under the Japanese title アカルイミライ, read Akarui Mirai. Twice and Himiko share the cover. Episode 111 adapts pages one and two along with four through fifteen.

On the opening page Twice claims Himiko has never let him take her measurements, which contradicts Chapter 147, where he had already made a Double of her. Horikoshi acknowledged the slip on Twitter, and the Volume 24 release rewrote the line so that Twice needs to measure her again because she has grown since the last time.

Chapter 161 carries the same English title, though the Japanese uses different characters. The fights range across Deika City, with Decay, Stress, Incite, Gecko, Anthropomorph and Double in use and Sevens Loud appearing as an item.
