Chapter 271

A short rewind shows Tsukuyomi tearing free of Fat Gum's body some thirty meters back from the fighting at the Gunga Mountain Villa, over the pro hero's objection. Asked by Chargebolt what he is doing, he answers that Hawks is somewhere above them and possibly in danger. Fat Gum ejects Chargebolt, Shemage, and Mudman, tells them to cover the rest on foot, and follows, privately amazed that anyone has ever broken out of his fat.

In the present, Dark Shadow drapes Tsukuyomi's cloak over the wounded Hawks and notes that nothing remains of his wings. Dabi calls it pathetic that U.A. drags children into this, then points out Twice's body and says Hawks killed him while he was going to back up his friends. The revelation staggers Tsukuyomi. Dabi asks whether he really came to save a hero filthier than any villain present. Hawks manages a few weak words, Tsukuyomi answers that he is worried about his mentor, and Dabi calls him thoughtless before loosing flames that catch his right leg in the cramped space. With the fire sapping Dark Shadow, Tsukuyomi decides to run for treatment. Hawks realizes Dabi failed to finish him earlier because he was talking, and is doing it again, not out of arrogance but to buy time until his flames work properly, and tells the boy to move. Dark Shadow seizes a railing behind Dabi and slings them away, but the weakened Quirk drops them onto the level below.

Hawks is unconscious and still breathing. Tsukuyomi triggers Black Fallen Angel, and Dabi lands in front of them on jets of fire from his soles, admitting he had been holding back. A vast ice wall from Geten cuts him off, letting Tsukuyomi escape into the air, telling the unconscious Hawks through tears that the killing does not make him filthy, that faith in him is undimmed, that the choice was the right one, and that he is forbidden to die. Fat Gum reaches the villa in time to see Mt. Lady blown away by that same ice. Geten shows his face, refusing to let the state's dogs interfere with Re-Destro any longer, and orders his allies to break the siege and commit to a single objective. Dabi turns his attention elsewhere. Under the villa, Re-Destro rages about his spare legs while a subordinate reports that Gigantomachia has caught his master's scent and started moving.

Tsukuyomi abandons Fat Gum's protection to reach Hawks and learns that his mentor killed Twice.

He escapes with an unconscious Hawks in his arms.

Geten's ice wall sends Mt. Lady flying and disrupts the heroes' formation.

Gigantomachia catches his master's scent and finally moves, his first action of the entire raid.

Dabi proves he can hold a hover, firing jets of flame downward out of his soles.

The action stays at the Gunga Mountain Villa, and the clash between Tsukuyomi and Dabi both begins and ends inside this chapter.
